Can't sleep, aggravated, and so I decided to dig into a jarred tin of 2021 C&D Small Batch Eight Burley, sealed since release. I intended to wait just about two more months and open this at the exact one year mark but since they re-released this tonight I figured, why not? It has mellowed a tad bit from my notes and mental notes. I smoked one entire tin of this at release and popped another tin just to be sure of it's casing. Fresh, it was very honey/vanilla and sweet and in your face, and we found out that some folks cannot smell or taste. Now, it's still quite a bit of sweetness but burley and Oriental leaf is in fact able to poke through a bit and it's tasting mellowed in briar. The tins will be far better in about 4-5 more years. I'm not buying the re-release. Heavy aromatic black cavendish/burley/Oriental mixture reminiscent of a high quality honey-vanilla pouch tobacco. I am however, liking it quite a bit more than when it was fresh.

Haunted Bookshop in the Tuesday cob. Still chattin'. I feel the universe is sending me a message. I have never tried Haunted Bookshop but have certainly seen it lauded many times and it shows up here frequently, certainly in your choices but in others too. I just ordered a can to see what I have been missing. Keeping with the theme of the thread, I am smoking a bowl of St. Bernard right now.

The most popular blend of all time. You are insane, aren't you. I'm pretty sure that Royal Yacht is behind M79 in popularity. 😉😁🤠 There is always someone who feels compelled to make the familiar Royal Yacht slam

It's available in bulk, no need to pay a few extra bucks to try a tin. It's my favorite overall all-day tobacco as well. Expect strong and straight-forward burley, red Virginia, and a dash of Perique. Have you tried Old Joe Krantz?

In retrospect, I didn't give them much of a chance, but I have found so many tobaccos in the meanwhile that I like that I haven't revisited them. Just a few weeks ago, I looked at a 12 year old tin of Bow Legged Bear I have that looks like it's going to explode at any minute and I thought when it does, I will finally get around to trying it I do have a jar of Crooner on my desk though and I enjoy a bowl of it every week or two.

First 2 pipes of the year today. St Bruno flake in my Neerup, followed by rich dark flake in my Morgan bones. I'm guessing that it was a really nice day on the North Coast? You guessed right. First proper warm day this year. It was 13 degrees!

Tobacco from the spill tray this morning, Burleys I'm sure as burley makes up the bulk of my tobacco intake, the pipe is my Brebbia apple, and the coffee is completely black, as I'm heading for some bloodwork, before my Doctor's appointment in the morning.

Peretti Blend 52 in a double-rusticated Dr. Grabow Westbrook. Same shape as the Royal Duke I posted a little while ago. Rusticated Westies are my favorite of the Grabow lines.
