Good to see you back, darktater. I'm smoking some Big 'n' Burley in a Mark Twain. Sir Walter Raleigh bothers me because it has no tobacco flavor and no nicotine at all. I can puff and puff on it to the point of tongue bite and there's just absolutely no flavor there. I can't appreciate just a flavor of anise and hairspray with no nicotine and no flavor of tobacco. I'll have to spice it up with cube cut burley and others and find a balance to get enjoyment out of those tubs. It does the opposite for me of what it's supposed to do. It distracts me and I cannot smoke tobacco like that and go about working as I keep looking for some flavor and backbone.

Newminster's Blackberry Brandy in a pipe I pulled from an older group in my collection, to mark the return of darktater. It's a Dublin bowl poker, listed on the Charatan shape chart as a Gilpin # 81. Charatan lists a 281 and a 481 with the letters DC, for the double comfort mouthpiece...my pipe, thank goodness, does not have the D.C. stem, and is marked simply "Made in London England" A nod to Steve Lang, and Reborn pipes, for the Charatan Shape imfo.

Spent a couple of hours in the yard cleaning up a bit of debris from the storms last night. I was lucky--a tornado passed just a few miles south of me, and another just north of me. No damage here--just some leaves and small limbs down. Enjoying a bowl of Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake in a Charatan before I get a shower and start thinking about dinner.....

Posting this in March WAYS, because for many of you late-nighters, it is still March. I'm having GH Rum Flake in a Weber Deep Grain apple with fancy-schmancy gold-plated band.
