Hmm. Sweetest Virginias I've had . . . If we're talking straight Virginias, I'd put the following in the running, in no order other than the one I thought of them in:
Sutliff 515 John Aylesbury Classic Flake Hamborger Veermaster Country Squire Green Dragon C&D Yorktown
Those are all in production and pretty easy to get.

Yo joe
In the realm of sweet Virginias that aren't deliberately topped, Mike McNeil of McClelland (R.I.P.), who knows a thing or two about Virginias, says the sweetest he had ever puffed is the 2013 vintage of Capstan Yellow Ready Rubbed. Both the Flake and RR are bright citrusy blends, somewhat like the Dunhill/Peterson Flake. Curiously, the better known Capstan Flake in the blue tin gets all the press, and the RR in both series don't get much love. So much so that for years, everytime I ordered the Yellow RR from the big ETailers, I got the same, maybe original batch. They all had the same serial number. At one point, I recall P&C put it on sale, trying to move the inventory.

No comment, terrapinflyer? Would've expected you to have thoughts on this one.

I like VA/Pers myself. I don't think I've ever had just a straight VA. Not sure though. I've heard people argue about Orlik GS that it doesn't have any perique in it, but I think it does. Maybe.

No comment, terrapinflyer ? Would've expected you to have thoughts on this one. Present! I agree with these; Yorktown is a go to for sweet. I'll add Sutliff Virginia Slices 507-C. More will occur to me. Peterson Dunhill Flake, maybe? If more obviously sweetened/Cavendished Virginia is allowed, I'd add Sutliff Sweet Virginia 707, Mac Baren Virginia N° 1, and Newminster All Natural 001. I have not had Amphora Virginia , but I think these might be in line with it. Or not. It's late.

Adding: Astley 109 is fairly sweet, but might be hard to find.

Country Squire's Green Dragon is the mildest sweetest Straight Virginia I have smoked.
