My travel lately has been pretty limited. Always before I would head out for weeks at a time roaming the country in our litte dirt-yacht, just me and the dogs. Not sure I will be doing as much of that anymore, but when the weather softens up I start getting itchy feet. May have to find a substitute for the long-distance expeditions… Meanwhile, what’s everybody else planning in the way of travel for the coming months?

I'm a homebody, myself. Couldn't tell you the last time I went somewhere on a vacation. Quite possibly never. If I did, some kind of truck camping would probably be in the plans.

Going to Mandeville April 23, with all the doctors and stuff we don't have any other plans. I really want to take the trike on the Talimina Scenic Byway sooner rather than later.

At a new job, the senior drivers gobbled up all of the summer months. There is a family reunion in Wichita that probably will be the last one (4th of July), my supervisor is trying to make it happen for me, but the nature of the work keeps people alive....hoping that it can happen.

I really don’t enjoy traveling at all and mrslax is getting her knees replaced this summer so I’ll be happy to be home this summer other than a couple of weeks to bake in SoAZ and three or four long, 3/4/5 day pipe show weekends in Chicago, possibly NASPC in Columbus, KC and Vegas this fall. Years ago we had a travel trailer that crossed the country twice that I don’t miss but we’ve thought of getting a small, lighter one again.

We had booked to go to Bulgaria for 2 weeks in the summer, but just before the war started we moved the destination to Lanzarote...better to stay west at this time. Thankfully, it didn't cost anything to move the location. I'm looking forward to it, provided it happens.

can't really plan anything, too much to do here & don't have anybody to live in house while away. Possibly in around early fall, couple days with steps in NC. That only if decide to replace my 150k miles truck. That not easy, only 2 choices, Toyota Tacoma or Chevy "work" truck, all know I refuse to allow a $1000 machine to change the gears. I not handicapped on left leg, change 'em myself cause I'm the driver, I'm in control, not the maker...end of that rant!
Sure, nice to be able to "get away" from town but not necessary

I’m headed to Chicago in May, New Orleans and then Florida in June and Vegas in august. Mostly work related but I will use some of the time for personal leisure

Going to spend 51 hours in Rome, Italy April 6th-8th. Literally, land at 7:45 AM on the sixth and depart at 11 AM on the eighth. This is a work related trip. But the Mrs. is going with. And at least we will eat well lol, neither one of us has ever been Then the end of April or first part of May I’ll move the motorcycle from Tampa back to Chicago. Most likely a couple one off short trips for two days. One to Denver one up to Minneapolis over the summer. To see friends and family. and random days in Florida over the summer also.

Nothing. With a disabled family member, I basically can't be away from home overnight. Oddly perhaps, as I used to really like road trips, I don't mind. Maybe it's being old and having had the chance to do a fair amount of travel when younger. It doesn't hurt that we live in a place where there is a lot to do and see close to home.

Planned a road trip out to Wyoming and Montana, but with gas as high as it is, that's not happening. Wife wants to take a shorter trip - to the "Ark Encounter" in Kentucky - which means I'll get to stop in at Straus Tobacco in Florence, KY. AND take tours of a few distilleries in the area. arkencounter.com/about/

Not much this year. I will be taking long weekends and taking the bike from NJ to Va to visit my father. Next year we hope to do 2 weeks in Scotland, we have friends there, we love it and wish we could move there.

Summer travel has become impossible for me owing to irrigation superintendent duties. No where to go anyway. I do not want to travel alone anymore. The idea of a tour with a bunch of my fellow citizens fills me with panic and the need for many Martinis.
I always wanted to see Mt. Rushmore. WIth fuel prices the way they will be this summer ($5 per gallon), I think not.

A lot of familiar names: Angel's Envy - Louisville Bulleit - Louisville Four Roses - Lawrenceburg and Cox's Creek Maker's Mark - Loretto Wild Turkey - Lawrenceburg Woodford - Versailles and others. Could probably only handle 2 or 3 a day - unlike the 6 or 8 wineries per day on a trip I took to Sonoma a few years ago.

I've also been to County cork Ireland. Lovely place.
