toshtego: thank you John, It's all about management. Hunters and responsible hunting are a big part of that. The alternative would be animals suffering starvation. Thats a pretty horrible way to die. Note; I have never been a trophy hunter. I dont believe in shooting an animal I am not willing to eat. The sole exception is population control of pest and nuisance animals. NOT eradication of said critters.

To truly embark on a "trophy hunt" in say Africa, it is in close coordination with game officials to cull the herds, and manage the wildlife population. The meat is donated to the hungry people that live there that are very appreciative of the 10's of thousands of dollars that responsible hunters donate to the local destitute population. Domestically, every firearm owner that buys a single round or a gun is taxed under the Pittman Robertson act, since Roosevelt's presidency. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittman%E2%80%93Robertson_Federal_Aid_in_Wildlife_Restoration_ActI know many hunters, I am not one...and not a single one that I know is into slaughtering animals for the fun of it. They are true conservationists, moreso than the rescuers of the sad dog looking commercials, and they would be the first to tack the hide of a person that kills animals for the fun of it. Hunters pay for tags, and the ammo taxes to local fish and game even though they have the money to simply go to the store and buy hamburger that was senselessly murdered and captive it's whole life...at least the wild game spent it's life roaming free. The people that engage in sick "kill them for fun" behavior are generally the Jeffry Dahmers of the world that deserve the broomstick that came his way. Not to knock anyone personally, it is more of a cultural worldview than anything. If you grew up in an area where responsible gun ownership was not valued or needed, you see no need for one...in self defense or hunting. If you grew up in a rural area, or gravitated to it...whole nuther story.

As usual Charlie, you put it even better than I could. Thank you! You are welcome. I could not help but think about the story that took place a few years back where an American dentist was maligned for shooting an African tiger, and he was suppose to be cancelled from society and probably should serve a prison sentence. When the real story came out, it was an angry old lion that was just out to kill man or beast that got in its way, it was therefore marked to be culled. I remember seeing an African man being asked if he was outraged about the lack of sensitivity of the doctor. “I ride a bike to work, the tiger is faster than I can pedal” was his reply. I will take my freight liner in a morning commute over that any day. Edit: It may have been a bull elephant that was to be culled, but the facts are the same.

Tigers in Africa? Who knew? Tigers, lions, bears, elephants, oh my. I know that in the case of the dentist, it was a problem with an animal that needed to be culled.

The Android phone problems continue. Unable to get voicemail to function, neither can the cell phone carrier. Four different techs failed to find solution.
Unable to received photos in Messaging. Keep getting a message "Content not supported". No one, so far, knows what the problem is or how to solve it.
It seems our gadgetry has out paced our ability to operate it.

Messaging no longer working. Phone changes many of my words from what I spelled to another word. I end up with gibberish.

I just want to drop a dime in the slot, spin the dial at "O", and talk with Ernestine for a while.

Sadly, on my Samsung A12, I am unable to find anyway to turn off autocorrect. Nothing on my phone matches what is on Youtube. I must have a different Version.

Find a young person John, and ask them for help, problem solved. In addition to the cell phone company technicians troubleshooting, I had a more knowledgeable and younger person look at it. No success. Perhaps I did not go young enough??? The problem is complicated by my not having a second phone. I need to speak with the techs on one phone while we work on the other. So, that is what progress looks like these days??

Last of this weeks students pulled out this morning. Shweetie and I headed to Huntsville to escape for the day. Dinner at Cracker Barrel, a visit to a new cigar lounge I’ve been wanting to check out, with a stop at a big gun store I heard about.

At the dentists office. Have to get a new crown and then a follow up for a extraction on one that broke and was already had a root canal so they can’t just simply yank it have go to a oral surgeon. Expensive day. Wish I took better care of my teeth when I was a kid it’s finally catching up to me. Remember to brush and floss.

Son's spending a couple nights at home while his gf is doing a mother/daughter weekend. Last night we enjoyed a backyard campfire with some beverages and pipes. Will repeat tonight when he gets off work. Definitely cigars tonight. Have a feeling my wife will be wanting S'mores. Just like old times.

I search out Dentists who feel they are able to perform extractions. It is nonsense that pulling a tooth must be performed by an Oral Surgeon. Impacted Wisdom Teeth are a different matter but a broken tooth following a root canal, that should be easy peasy. Look up "Painless Potter, DDS".

Did some footwork this week, it is kind of questionable about the Arizona Pipe Club being able to feel comfortable in the venue we have been in for awhile, it has been sold to investors that seem to have a different attitude towards supporting pipe smokers.
In the same town, I found a wonderfully appointed cigar lounge that wants to grow on the pipe side.
We may stay where we are at, we may not…. A wait and see approach, but whatever the case, we are a fortunate group to have options. We have friends on the wholesale side of the tobacco industry, and tobacconists of the same. It is great to have options… good times ahead for our group, I cannot say enough about the members of our club, and we are blessed to live in an environment that is not militant against our hobby!

Found a wasp nest by my front door. Fuckers stung me when I was bringing in groceries so I went back out to get wasp spray and just coated the nest real good from a distance. Hope they don’t come back.

Hope they don’t come back. I hate wasps. They are sting for no reason, just cos they can! In other news. I ordered a tin of Balkan mixture from my normal online store - 'We do not deliver to Northern Ireland'.... this might be a sign of things to come. Thankfully, my second option do deliver.
