Try to take a moment during your busy day to reflect the significance of this day: D Day and the sacrifices made by the greatest generation in history.

Back to computer job after some time off. Listening to dad work on my house outside the window. makes it hard to sit in here. Also the project he was to work on should only require the nail gun, but I am hearing lots of sawing instead. Should be interesting when I can go out after work. Gonna be a long wait.

Found a wasp nest by my front door. Fuckers stung me when I was bringing in groceries so I went back out to get wasp spray and just coated the nest real good from a distance. Hope they don’t come back. I hate wasps. They are sting for no reason, just cos they can! In other news. I ordered a tin of Balkan mixture from my normal online store - 'We do not deliver to Northern Ireland'.... this might be a sign of things to come. Thankfully, my second option do deliver. My ancestors are spinning in their graves that Sinn Féin took control of the government there.

It's rained here the last couple of nights, which isn't bad except that the weather service has forecast 0% chance. You'd think that by now they'd be better at weather forecasting for the next 12 hours!

Here’s an interesting exercise in your “life circle.” Go backwards. 78 years from my birth the Civil War had just begun.

71 years before I was born Edison demonstrated the light bulb. Doc Holliday killed his first man and milk was first delivered in bottles.

D-Day, The Sixth of June was the most significant endeavor of the 20th Century.
Our generation will not forget. Cannot say what will happen after us. Perhaps remembrance of past wars should fade?
I thought the movie' "The Longest Day" was a worthy depiction of the event.

Easy for you to say, living in God Fearing Methodist and Baptist Texas! Although, when Texas has a crook, he is usually a big one. Hence the need for the Rangers. LOL! Try living in northern NM where government exists for the benefit of the rich and connected with nothing for the regular folks.

My ancestors are spinning in their graves that Sinn Féin took control of the government there. because of that, we have no government. The others won't play ball. It is what it is. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out. Reverend John13 Vance (1617 - ): England systematically removed the Irish Catholics from the north of Ireland and re-colonized it. Many of the new colonists were Scotchmen (see Ul- ster Scots, p. 12). John was the first of the Vances to settle in Ireland. He was a Presbyterian minister and traveled to Ireland about 1660 to escape relig- ious persecution and likely to search for new opportunities. He was also the first to use the name Vance. Under the Act of Settlement, John obtained the lease of a tract of land in the County of Tyon and there founded the village of Coagh. He married Sarah13 Williams, daughter of Ashe14 Reinty, Esq. of the County of Derry and had six children. Their first son, Dr. Lancelot Francis Vance, died of fatigue at the siege of Londonderrry leaving one other son as heir, Patrick12. Don't make us have to come back!

Long ago when I lived in southern Oregon, I once watched a weatherman forecast 10% chance of rain during a downpour. He at least had the class to look off set, like he was gazing at the window as he said "The computer predicts a 10% chance of rain. I say its more like 100%"

With over 300 days of sunshine per year, this market must be the easiest job in weather reporting.

With over 300 days of sunshine per year, this market must be the easiest job in weather reporting. Last summer in Glendale a 30% chance was a guarunteed flood. The only thing I DO NOT miss about Phoenix is sitting on 10 after work waiting on water to drain from under the overpasses. GA weather is killing me already. I sweated more today than I did the whole time I was in AZ.

Dehydration for one. Even with long sleeves and a broad brim hat it is a drying experience.

toshtego all of my jobs were inside for the most part. The company that I worked for did kitchen and baths. The only time I was outside was to grab tools or materials. We'd 100% seal off whatever room we were working in and most of the time I was able to do all of my cutting in there. It was nice, I miss it terribly. But "drying" is right. I always made sure I had an extra case of water in my trunk. You never know what could happen.

Daughter asked me to do a 23 and me thing for her book she’s putting together, 25% England, with 18% of that in Ireland in a place called Galway, always did enjoy singing Irish diddes, Rest is French and German, with a smattering of Portuguese.
