Found this forum after Reddit made some ridiculous changes yesterday regarding tobacco-related content yesterday (all posts in the pipetobacco community are now marked as NSFW, similar to porn). It’s a shame because their forum technology and user interface is top notch, but enough is enough as far as their content policy goes.
Anyway, I’m here now and looking forward to seeing what this community is about.

Welcome. I was unaware of the changes on reddit, but I cant say that I'm surprised. NSFW for tobacco is pretty ridiculous. For some odd reason I've never paid attention to the pipe community over there, but im always scrolling through the nasal snuff sections.

It's funny, I rarely do pipe subs, but I was looking at r/pipetobacco for Falcon stuff yesterday and there was flustering over the NSFW tags. I didn't know they're brand new.

Censorship is overdone nowadays. Zarnicky posted on another site and was banned after 15 minutes. Speaking of censorship, after 30 some years of active participation on pipe boards/forums I was censored/deleted for the first and only time here on The Briar Patch. Anyway after the first round of Reddits tobacco and liquor rules a few years ago most of the regulars jumped ship to The Speak Easy Forum. It’s the same cast of characters but at a new location.  |

People don't understand what words mean any more or maybe they are just intellectually dishonest. There is zero serious move in America towards Communism, let alone "Stalinism." There are, however, people in power very loudly calling for a white, European "Judeo-Christian," ultra-nationalist ethnostate. That's fascism, my friends. It should scare everyone, including white men. Once democracy is gone, NO ONE is safe. Sure, it's just atheists, muslims, women, brown people, and queers they want to eliminate now. They'll come for the "wrong" type of Christian soon enough. Or people not "Anglo-Saxon" enough.
The free speech people are those who want to ban uncomfortable history and dehumanize anyone who has different views. The free speech folks are the people who have branded me a pedophile.
I spend a lot of time anonymously in far-right spaces and they are even quicker to ban speech than any mainstream media outfit if anyone questions the rage-grift machine. These people want people like me eliminated from American society, but get threatened by an 18+ tag on a tobacco forum.
And red is the color of MAGA.
