Finished my yard work for the day. Smoking Wessex Brown Virginia Flake in a Mark Tinsky. Lately I have been cutting my flakes across the "grain" with a sharp pair of kitchen shears (sort of a cube cut I suppose). I think I prefer this to my usual "fold, twist, rough it up a bit, stuff it in" method....

Especially in a large bowl, the Palmetto Balkan has been giving off a lot of McClelland Frog Morton Cellar vibes. Never smoked FMC in this particular pipe but I'm getting the profile of the FMC from 2012 I recently finished, and this is before this even has any age on it.

way earlier full walks, Quoroum 6x50 for company. Done helping older lady who was a client of my late wifie when she was with a HUD outfit in town yrs back. Fed me brunch. one of two "rewards" for my assistance. this afternoon, get more "stuff" organized for Goodwill donation Sunday. 57, headed for 70, scattered rain thruout Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY pipe/cigar since ??62 Spicy!

Bought the kitchen shears about a year ago--they looked perfect for cutting tobacco flake. Cut the wife loose about 20 years ago--she was a flake also....
