Bald Headed teacher in one of my two Royal Guards. Royal Guard is one of three Stanwell seconds that hit the Tinder Box shelves in the late seventies or very early in the eighties, there were Royal Guards, Royal Danish, and a third line that I can't for the life of me remember. The look and hand feel of the Royal Guard really called out to me much more than the other two, but all three were a great value, at under thirty bucks each. I sure wish I could get my time machine running again! If you get your time machine running, Herbert, come by and pick me up for that trip to 1980 or so. You can chase pipes, while I chase...well..you know....

WO Larsen pipes in my opinion are highly underrated, and still often can be had for a great price. The carvers employed there back in the day are pretty much The Who’s-who of great Danish carvers. pipedia.org/wiki/W.Ø._Larsen

Finished my day with some Wilke 436 in a Ben Wade Majestic. I am really enjoying this tobacco. Thinking about ordering a bit for the "cellar" to accompany the pile of Virginia flake tobacco I have seemed to accumulate....

I'm holding in my hand , one of a matched pair of freehand pipes, both flocked, and sporting tight, straight grain almost all the way around, the marking, witch in etched into the flock, rather than the wood, clearly reads Jespers of Denmark....I had been told these were from that shop, but this is the first thing I've seen to confirm it.

Hey Cat, How'd ya like the mid-July weather? Got another one tomorrow. Pegasus in the Monday cob on the deck. Listening to Sinatra. I am not a fan of hot weather, hopefully the forecasts are correct and it cools back off by Wednesday. The humidity has been annoying too, takes forever to dry out pipe tobacco, SG blends are definitely off the table. Still smoking WC Slice, but I feel some Sutliff RR match coming on later.

My first bowl of Three Blind Moose in the lattice meer this morning with coffee. I'm not usually a fan of aromatics, but this one is quite good.
Yesterday was some Nutty Professor in my RD Pipes large bent billiard, followed by more Nutty Professor in my Kirsten Vagabond. I am really enjoying this blend.
