Just had a bowl of London Dock in a Torben Dansk Brage. The last of a tin I had been working on for a while. Not my favorite blend by far, but acceptable. It came in a batch of tins I bought a few years ago. Now trying to use up an Edward’s blend called “Hartenstein Trail”. I’m not sure what it really is. It is a dark English or Balkan blend. I am using up all my oddballs in an effort to simplify what I keep on hand. Smoking this in an RC Sands rusticated, bent billiard.

First smoke of the day! I spent today with my stepson at his new house he bought last week helping him do a few small things and didn’t find time to smoke. Right now it’s L. J. Peretti 33 in my favorite calabash. Which day, Sunday or Monday? Sunday practically but Monday technically so today I get to have two first smokes of the day.

Chatham Manor in my BST blasted Billiard. I have some great BST's, but yours may be the nicest I've ever seen. I'm curious how he got the 'up and down' thing, AND the nice blast.

I've liked a lot of his pipes, but I never wanted a Todd. He would get on my nerves and I suspect his personal habits aren't the best. 😉

I have only had the perique version and kind of felt the same-- good, but not enough to chase it. WCC Stubb's Pipe in a Falcon bulldog. Seltzer with orange bitters.

Chatham Manor in my BST blasted Billiard. I have some great BST's, but yours may be the nicest I've ever seen. I'm curious how he got the 'up and down' thing, AND the nice blast. Thanks. I bought this one from Todd at the Chicago Show in 2016 (I think that was the year). It's a large group 2 or small group 3 in size, was left natural, and has darkened from use. As I recall, he also made a larger Billiard with the same type of blast. I’m really not sure how he did it but this does have a very fine grained deep blast which is pretty distinctive. I find it interesting that this is my most commented on pipe. I don’t smoke it often, but it seems like whenever I post it, it gets comments.

I have a similar 'natural' blasted billiard from him, but mine's more like a Group 5. It has colored very nicely over the years.

In a very good way. I think you've got an Upshall that really stands out, if I recall correctly.
