I can report, the quick rehydrated HU Dockworker is smoking smooth and tasty. I received a couple well aged tins around late 2014, early 2015 from a friend directly in Germany. At the time he told me the tins had been in his cellar for years and had at least five or six years of age already on them. I didn't open this one until I believe early 2017 but during a cross-country move I'd throw about half a remaining tin as well as numerous others into ziplock bags so I didn't have to move 20+ additional jars that only contained less than 50g of tobacco per jar. After getting the tobacco rehydrated and pliable, the smell of it was maybe a little stale and off from the toppings. After the first five minutes or so of smoking though it settled down and simply tastes like some excellent and well aged Dockworker flake. Only a few more bowls left. Probably been dried out in the ziplock since September of 2017.
Smoking more 2008 HU Dockworker in the Mark Twain cob.

Having some Whimsical in the unphotographed billiard. I had the chance to try some yesterday, but I was already into my third bowl at the club. Spartacus said that one will really benefit with age…. So mine sits for a bit.

My own small batch this morning, Kentucky Club Continental, Sutliff's Toasted Burley, and a dash of Milan's Our Carter Hall. I mixed it in my Spill/dry tray and ended up with enough to fill the big freehand I'm smoking now, the Jursa bulldog, that waits in a pipe-rest nearby, and just enough left in the tray to fill a long, slender prince, in the hopes that my wife might give it a try and replace those damn coffin nails.
