Captain Black Royal in an antique store find, a black, rusticated egg of ample size. The pipe is marked Italy over handmade, and then PODY, then a long word in script that I can't make out. A mystery, but a good puffer that came at a reasonable price, and unsmoked to boot!

Many months ago, I mixed up some 2016 Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake & some 2016 Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Kentucky. I was looking for a way to add a strength boost, flavor depth, and nuance to the poorly aging and too mild nicotine and flavor of the twist flake. What I was able to blend after a few tries of proportions is something really wonderful. The taste is really good right away but now, after at least a few months mixed together in a jar it's well married. The aged Twist flake fermented over the years but kept the caramel nougat flavor. The aged Kendal Kentucky doesn't change much on it's own but when mixed at a lesser portion, and at a fairly small portion to that of LTF, it's added a spicy creaminess element of Kentucky to the caramel nougat that is stunning. It's truly the best of both worlds, where you get the caramel but an added espresso-oomph of the dark fired kentucky with just such a small floral emphasis that's hard to describe. Think salted caramel, spiced wood, and cream.
I'm smoking this now in a Mark Twain cob to see if I wanted to mix up more of this mixture. I definitely will.
