I saw that The Who are going to be in Vegas next weekend, but eight hours rountrip, nosebleed seats for $150, ain’t happening.
Back in the mid eighties, me and Steve headed to the Oakland coliseum for the show that The Who was the headliners. We arrived late, and saw a spot right next to the entrance that was vacated. Just before we got there, a guy whipped into the spot. I was driving a company truck, F250 construction truck, and told Steve to put a hard hat on. I turned the flashing yellow light on and told the guy he needed to move as the light was shorting out and we needed to service it.
He was bummed big time and drove to the back forty. We kept the hard hats on and it gave us a good pass to the front of the venue. It was the loudest concert that I have ever attended, but the clarity was incredible… one of the best concerts I ever attended.
When we got back to the truck, the light issues had been miraculously fixed!😉
Good times!

Saw them in Houston decades ago, and I just didn't enjoy them at all. Wife made me sit through Tommy too. I could have skipped that one and been happy. I thought at the time that they were more gimmick than music. "let's play some pop and smash our instruments"

My experience was totally different. They brought the house down, maybe in an on the road funk for you.

Could be, but I don't really like them. I don't think about it but I change the radio when they play a Who song. I actively don't like the Guess Who, but I never change the channel on them unless it's American Woman.

Saw them in the early 80s at the Pontiac Silverdome. Incredible!
