Cornell & Diehl "Black Frigate" in a Treaty Bond Fisherman pipe. It is me against a horde of fruit flies. I have eliminated their food source but the infiltrating communist bastards are still here pestering me as I type. So, this means "War!"
Have not smoked in some years since developing chronic Pneumonia. Happy to light up again. Trying not to inhale which is counter to my programing.

Hanging out with my little buddy in the shed, smoking Comoys Cask No. 7 in a Stanwell Royal Rouge 260. Cool buddy and cool pipe. Do you know that the pipe dates to the early to mid 50s? Uncrowned S stem logo plus finish prefix on shape number (finish 2 shape 60).

johnlawitzke I talked to someone about it when I bought it, but I can't remember who it was. They told me it was from the 50s, but that was about it. I didn't know about the finish/shape number, thank you for that. I picked this one up from someone here who doesn't post anymore. It just happened at the right time. I was looking for a lightweight stack and the price was right. The uncrowned S is what really got me. It has a few little dings on the rim, but other than that, it's perfect. It's in better shape than most things that are ~70 years old. Everytime I smoke a Stanwell I'm reminded why they're my favorite "factory" pipes. There will be more...

There’s something special about the wood used for the Danish made Stanwells which was lost when they went to Italian contract production and sold off the Borup factory's briar stockpile. IMHO, registration number era Stanwell Hand Made pipes are always excellent smokers with fantastic bit work. As a bonus, Danish Stanwells are not expensive to collect.

I started pipe smoking in 1966 and had to discontinue in 2014 or 2015. I cannot remember exactly the year. I started developing annual pneumonia in 2013. After hospitalization in 2014 or 2015, it seemed prudent to stop. Certainly enjoyed starting up again. My tobacco inventory is now "well aged", LOL!
