Any recommendations for a good reamer for big pipes? Can't remember the brand name, but isn't there kind of a standard reamer that the restorers use? Has multiple attachments for multiple bowl sizes. Maybe the largest one would do it? What diameter are we talking about?

Erinmore Flake in a Treaty Bond Fisherman. The tobacco was a gift from a well known member here. Thank you, amigo!

If that one isn't suitable, Dunhill makes a set for only $940.

I have one of those. It will ream anything within reason.

I have both types, and they both come in handy...the ream-all set gets the most action however.

I find that two reamers will do the best job if you have a variety of pipes, both have their strengths and weaknesses.
The senior reamer is built like a tank, all metal construction, and the removable drill bit is included in the cap and is great for cleaning the shank on heavily smoked pipes. The Senior reamer expands, so that you can gradually carve the carbon away...a really neat tool that will last your lifetime.
The Castleford reamer has fixed bits that fit into the T-handle that on wider bowls, the cutting edges would never touch with the senior reamer. The weak point with the Castleford reamer is that it comes with a plastic handle, even without giving animal-like exertion, I have had the handle crack. Therefore, I would advise if you buy a Castleford reamer and it cracks, order a replacement through Amazon and return the cracked handle with the bits for a refund....they bear the blame for not making an aluminum handle on and otherwise great tool.
I have both, have used both extensively...they both do a great job if you understand what each one can, and cannot do...the right tool for the right job.

I rarely use a reamer unless restoring an estate. I do regular cake maintenance with a pipe knife and occasionally sandpaper around a dowel. When I do use a reamer, I find different ones have different uses. I have a Butner, a Senior, and a Castleford set. Annoyed Cornishman in my registration number era Stanwell Silver S 53 Billiard.
