Sometimes when you go thru old photo files the distant past comes out and smacks you upside the head. Some guy from 53 years agoβ¦
Anybody else got old, old photo memories?

There's an abundance of easy jokes to be had here about one of your ancestors being a mule breeder, but I'll let them pass.

Here's for your Saint Patrick. JustΒ kidding, but I never liked wearing green and then I found out that I was the other kind of Irish. Oh well.

I've been MIA for a bit. I took on a big job with a short deadline, but great pay. I needed the financial boost, they needed their house done. I made it happen, but man did it burn me out, severely. Out of 180 hours, I worked and drove for close to 120 of them. At the shock of all of us, I finished it a day early. The woman is very picky and told me she was skeptical of hiring me to begin with, because it was just me. I reeled her in by telling her if she covered all the material up front and covered my gas (the job was 180 miles a day round trip), she wouldn't owe me anything until I was finished, and she was happy with it.
They just fired a guy before me because he was slow and incredibly sloppy, so it left a bad taste in their mouth.
I finished at 5pm on Thursday, she checked it all out Friday morning and told me to come get my money. I just got off the phone with her, and they have more work that they want me to do for them.
The good thing about it being a big job was it gave me time to line up more afterwards. I currently have 4 more on schedule to start, and 2 to look at and give prices for on Monday morning. I told everyone up front that I was a few weeks out, and every one of them said they'd wait because I was "highly recommended."
It's funny how things work. A few weeks ago I called an old boss and was about to go back to work for him. The Monday that I was supposed to start with him, I decided I couldn't give up that easy and had to make a final push... it has paid off.
I hope everyone is well. I have some catching up to do.

What a weird March.
I'm watching some ST baseball. The grill was delivered a little while ago (but not the mower), so I'll probably start assembling that, soon.

Diesel engine woes again. I let the fuel tank get too low in combination with the cold, no start. Added "911 Diesel Rescue" to the tank, added five gallons of fresh fuel. Drained and filled the fuel filter bowl with a mix of 911 and diesel fuel. No ignite. So, I have to trouble shoot the block heater and then the glow plug relay.
The Landcruiser runs fine but the glass in the driver's window fell out in a pile. So, hard to drive far with the window open in Winter.

Zero ohms Resistance wiht Multi Merter. Zero amps flowing with Clamp-On Meter and line splitter.
Appears the Block Heater has shorted out. Probably from being left plugged in for too long during the snow storm. I knew better but was not paying attention.

I don't know anything about diesel engines, but I do know driving without a windshield is probably not a good time.
