There’s not enough money to reward them as they deserve. And I bet they don’t want it. They probably wish the cup had passed to someone else. They had to shoot a young woman that was in the process of murdering children. Nothing but bad in the situation. They did their duty. Duty is a harsh mistress.

Chilly today, warming up tommorow, gonna plan to mow the homeplace. Home generator kicks off every Wednesday morning, best thing I’ve bought in a great while.

Me and my oldest boy have had our issues throughout the years, bit we've worked through them and have a better relationship now than we ever have before. Today, I have to say goodbye to him for a bit. He's leaving this crap hole town to follow his dreams. He goes down to Jacksonville today, and ships out to Ft. Leonard Wood tomorrow. I've never been more proud of him, and I can't wait to meet a completely different man in a few months. Somehow I missed this. Godspeed to him… Ft. Lost in the woods misery can be a real challenge, I am sure he is up for it, he comes from good stock.

Another fantastic day here in NE Texas. Heat coming next week according to the forecast. House is strangely quiet this morning because the dog had to go to the vet early to have her teeth cleaned. Very depressing. I fell on the front steps a couple of days ago and hit my elbow on the corner of the brick planter. It's enough better that I'm going to try to do a little outside work today. Y'all have a great day! Ron, please watch your step and be careful. The Pipe Forum Emergency Squad is not making visits to east Texas just now!

We have no idea what happened to her. She never gets bones or anything like that. She's had her bath and it resting comfortably on her mistress's lap.

He's EXACTLY like me and that's why we butt heads, but he has my drive and determination. At least the weather is pretty decent this time of year. He almost signed up for infantry, but basic at Ft. Benning in the summer would have been awful! No one likes South GA in the summer except for the gnats and mosquitoes. I imagine right now he's running off of very little sleep and still signing his life away to the government. He'll be happy once he gets to play with some C4 (Combat Engineer). He was made for this and he's going to be great. Proud dad for sure!

Josh, you have every right to be proud of your son. We share that pride in a more remote way. Please keep on with updates. You see, too many young people here seem to be wasting the life God have given them. So, it is a pleasure for me to read about your boy!

A morning battle with US Bank. Hard folks to deal with as the level of bureaucratic indifference can make it hard to get even simple questions answered. I would never have opened an account with them but when our local bank failed years ago, US Bank took over. They closed two of the three branches here and the one which remains cannot be reached by telephone anymore and has reduced hours of operations. This makes my job as Treasurer difficult. Sadly, this is the way it is nowadays.

I really dodged a bullet.
I have a Kenmore dishwasher and the rollers on the upper track failed because of a cheap design. I lost or misplaced the original sales receipt, and figured that I was going to have to eat it on repairing it. Then I got an email that my dishwasher extended warranty was running out and offered me a chance to re-up at exorbitant prices...I passed but contacted them to fix my dishwasher!
In talking to the technician, he told me that since "we" signed on to the Paris accords regarding climate change, a huge portion of the appliances out in the field do not meet the demands, and the manufacturers are not providing parts, and they do not have to do so because they would be complicit in furthering "non friendly" appliances
He was not an ideologue by any means, he just spoke from the perspective of a guy in the field.
There are consequences for actions by greasy politicians.

Folks in flyover country -- like me -- don't have to worry about abandoning our homes and farms because of sea level rise. It's already happening to those folks in Vanuatu. You might think climate change has nothing to do with human activity, I don't know. I know it's a lot easier for any of us to sit and oppose changes of whatever kind when the status quo is somebody else's problem.

I dont know that reads more like a company making up shite to justify not having parts and upsale new units vs having parts for god knows how many models and years but thats just my take.

He doesn't work for one company, he works for a company that works on every unit out there...he said that it is across the board for many of the units that he makes housecalls on, he said that it won't be long that he will be making housecalls to tell them to just buy a new appliance, as there will not be parts to fix the units.
Just taking him at his word, he seems to be an honest guy.

We spent the day in the back yard. My wife, Sharon, cut the grass, while I broke down last year's compost pile. I used the finished compost where needed and layered the unfinished material with the fresh clippings from the mower, and the brown yard-waste from last fall. We ended up with two tired old bodies, a fresh cut lawn, and a full compost ring, in layers of green and brown. As Sharon put the tools away, I maned the lawn-spreader, and put down some organic weed and feed. Just as we gave ourselves the usual pats on the back, a cool rain began to fall, to bless our workday, life is good!

I spent all evening keeping an eye on the weather. We had multiple tornado warnings. They just kept popping up and popping up. One of them killed some people in Wynne, AR, southwest of us, before blowing through here. Lotta damage in Little Rock, too, and a town a little north of me. Here at mi casa, it was pouring rain, high wind, hail, and lots of sirens, but the tornadoes managed to just dodge me.

It sucks when tools burn up. A few years ago I bought a bunch of Ryobi tools because I was mostly painting and doing tons of drywall work. I figured they make me enough money that I'd replace them with DeWalts or Milwaukees as they burned up or didn't work as intended. Well, 3 years later and some of them are still going. But the other day while repairing a window my multitool started smoking and died and my impact has had some wobble to it for a while. So I drove 30 miles to Home Depot (we have a Lowes and I refuse to shop there) to replace them. What do you know? the Milwaukee rep just happened to be there and "Home Depot has a great deal going on right now..." "spend $350, save $50. Spend $450, save $100. Spend $550, save $150. On select items." They just happen to be the top of the line tools. Needless to say, they got me. So I got a new impact, a new multitool, and a new HUGE battery and rapid charger. I could have got the "standard" ones for a little less, but oh well. Subtotal: $657.00 Savings: $175.02 (pro xtra savings) Total: $520.54 Now I'll be stuck on painting and drywall for the next year.

So sorry for these storms that hatch in my area and do devastating things. Government don’t help anymore, still blue tarps in Lake Charles, my wife’s Aunt lost her home and had a FEMA trailer chop chop. Our President can’t even get Rolling Rock straight, Rolling Stone it isn’t. Sad! I’m too old but if I was younger I’d have my jambalaya pot and fixings down at Rolling Rock feeding people, I’m not a praying man, but those of you who are please pray for those people.

Some communities are better able than others to pick up the pieces. In Houston we had 2 of the world's largest construction companies and thousands of associated businesses to help. They don't have shite in Rolling Rock. Even southern Louisiana has the infrastructure to build back. The tornadoes that hit just west of us took 5 counties to help clean up. Praying for Mississippi. 🙏

Milwaukee is good. Dewalt has gone down and Black and Decker has come up. The VERY BEST is Makita in my opinion. I have a 7 volt Makita driver that has been used for an unbelievable number of projects and is still going strong. I picked up a SDS drill and some other tools at Harbor Freight the other day. I have HF tools that I've had for 40 years, mostly lightly used. I don't need professional tools at this stage.

We were told that our refrigerator was made by the Korean brand LG. They flat out lied.
