Hooray! Janet was released from the hospital late this morning and she's doing just fine and is back to her ol' cranky self. She has to start taking a medication that's specifically for flushing excess fluid from her system and I'll pick up the prescription tomorrow. As we were sitting in the living room together I realized I've been so busy over the past few days that I forgot something...Half of my life had been missing. It's good to have her home.

Yep, it’s an empty feeling without your spouse, so glad she’s well and home.

It's been 5 days of medicine since the doctor visit and I'm still coughing. Nice weather, if I could only enjoy it.

Flipping channels and saw the Indianapolis 500 qualifications are going on. When I was a kid I was crazy about the 500. I had a crystal radio and I listened to the race every year in elementary school and never got caught. I guess it was because a guy from the old neighborhood was the favorite racer because I quit keeping up with it after he quit winning. One of my best friends was his nephew. He's still alive and kicking at 88 and has 2 ranches in Texas. What a life lived to the fullest. A toast to Anthony Joseph Foyt Jr., the greatest race car driver.

Trimming the African Sumac back in 93° weather is for the birds! We had a long winter (which is a more ideal time for the tree to be pruned). I need to be more like the ant, less like the grasshopper.

Just made it in the door from ditch rounds on the ATV. Started to pour rain and I mean a dumping of water like I have not seen here in a long time.

My reply was " what would be the point? "

Thanks wisenheimer! It was 79% humidity if that helps. Felt really nice walking around the yard though. It felt like 77. 😁

I am pretty much conditioned for the Sonoran desert, but I was not hydrated on my tree trimming day and knew it was time to head indoors, felt the beginnings of heat stroke....but hey, it is a dry heat.

Yeah, in a couple of months when it's 99 degrees and 90% humidity you can gloat all you want. Today is really nice again, 72 degrees.

Heading out shortly to clear a jammed irrigation headgate. Boards were cut too long, swelled with the water and are stuck. This means I have to divert mucho agua to reduce the pressure. Land owners, who are responsible for this are absent.

Down on essentials I had to make a supply run to The Cowboy Capitol. Thought I was smart doing on Sunday morning. Wrong. Crowded. But it’s done now and Jack got a good ride. Should be good for nigh a month unless I get visitors. Inventory shows 90 days but it never works out exactly as counted.
