Watched the 1955 movie "The Conquest of Space". Now, I am on to "Flight to Mars." Busy days on the Red Planet.

"The Desert Rats" for about the 25th time. One of my favorites as a boy. As an adult, I can appreciate Robert Newton's performance along with Richard Burton. Mason sure makes a great Erwin Rommel. John Wengraf is always great playing a Heinie officer, the MD who treats Colonel McRoberts and the Field Marshall. You might recall him in "Sahara" and "Five Fingers". Chips Raffetry as Sergeant Blue. Some facts to this movie and some highly imaginative interpretations. Always a fun watch.

I rarely go to the theater, but I went and saw "The Sound Of Freedom" starring Jim Caviezel. It is a great movie and is really eye opening to the breadth and depth of Child sex slave trafficking. The movie was made five years ago, was turned down by the big players in Hollywood, and they faced a lot of obstacles to bring it to the big screen but prevailed. There is absolutely no politics in the movie, but you do not have to look too far to see where politicized "critics" say it is so. The rolling Stone critic says that: "‘Sound Of Freedom’ Is a Superhero Movie for Dads With Brainworms". By inference, I suppose that he is for child sex trafficking.Worth a trip to the theater, worth staying past the credits to hear Caviezel's heartfelt plea.

The guy is a real piece of, uh, oh hell, Shite! Everything he writes is crap. The movie is out selling every other flick in the Arklatex.

Just watched the new Indiana Jones movie. I’ve enjoyed the franchise and rate this movie a C+/ B-.

"It Came From Beneath the Sea", 1955. Thank goodness Ken Toby was available to save the world from another monster threat. It seems that after saving the Artic station from "The Thing From Another World" in 1951, he was promoted to USN Captain and traded his C-47 for an atomic submarine. It must be great to have those versatile leadership skills.

I can't wait to see Oppenheimer and the wife wants to see Sound of Freedom. They are selling the tickets as a double feature, but I don't think that I can handle 6 hours in the theater.

Watched the reporting of the impending actors strike….and the talking heads fretting about reruns going forward.
They really need to up their game, with the streaming capabilities at the normal persons fingertips there are plenty of options.
If I was watching reruns, it wouldn’t be anything on the current cycle.

I hear you, not much on domestic tv that interests me, Britbox and Acorn alone could keep me content. But I am married the wife likes Chicago PD, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire…. If they came out with Chicago animal control guessing that would be on… and neither of us are Chicagoans.

We don't watch any of those. No NCIS or FBI either. We did watch the old Chicago Hope hospital soap. My wife's a sucker for hospital soaps.

I have avoided all TV series made in the USA for a few years. "Justified", "Longmire", "Dark Winds", early "Bones", and "The Mentalist" being five I used to enjoy. There are probably newer ones I might like. There just is not enough patience here to wade through the other stuff looking for them. OF the clutch above, "Justified" was the best. Great characters. That takes great writers and good actors.

"Devil Girl From Mars", a mid 1950s British made movie set in a rural Scottish hotel. Despite the silly title, good Sci-Fi movie. "Naya", our "Devil Girl" would make a fun Date . I dig leather mini-skirts.

The wife and I binged last weekend, pretty sure we will do the same next weekend, nothing in sight under 110°.

It is definitely a villainously rich show! I hope the Writers add the comic relief characters like Dewey Crowe and Constable Bob. Otherwise this show will become quite grim.

Went into town to watch "Oppenheimer" with my Ex and her partner, a morose and silent guy who usually wishes he was not there, lol. I can say this is a movie worth watching but bring your hearing aid as these actors mumble their lines. I missed about 60 per cent of the dialogue. The only character who was consistently understandable was Matt Damon. He plays General Groves and means it like a General. No trouble whatsoever. The Irishman they cast to play J. Robert looks so much like him he seemed the perfect fit and did a fine job. Wardrobe Department got his hat wrong. The brim was too small. That irked me all the way through as Oppie was known for the fedora he wore along with his pipe which is also present. Branagh did a good job as Niels Bohr along with guy playing Teller. Gary Oldman made a hard edged Truman. Lots of NM real estate shown and the Los Alamos they built looks like the remnants of the old town. The theater was packed to capacity with grey heads, the only people who care enough to watch history unfold.
There was one preview for Ridley Scott's "Napoleon" movie coming soon. Joaquin Phoenix plays the Corsican. Looks like another great movie. Scott knows his trade.

Saw Oppenheimer also, but it was ridiculous that with the exception of once as he lit his pipe near the end, he only carried around an empty pipe.
The movie itself was well worth watching, Rami Malek did not have a large role, but he was a great closer.
I knew nothing about the controversy of people trying to railroad Oppenheimer and question his loyalty, glad to see Strauss get his comeuppance.

Ol’ Guy: “Have you seen that movie about Oppenheimer?” Teen: “Who?” OG: “OK, I guess he’s not exactly as famous as George Washington.” Teen: “Who?”

Disappointed in the dark side of Ava, initially all of the ground rules she laid out for Boyd Crowder, she moved the goalposts for herself. Meanwhile, I like Boyd Crowder… the dude is a mess, but I like him, and I cannot offer an explanation why.
