Finished watching “Eye in the Sky” on Amazon starring Helen Muren. In layman’s terms it’s based on a very loose Targeting Board: tracking, getting authorization and eliminating high value targets. A little bit of Hollywood naturally but entertaining if you examine it at the tactical level. I enjoyed that movie. Anything with Helen is usually good. If you want something with which is quirky, look for "No Such Thing". Filmed largely in Iceland. Thanks John, will look for it.

I'm pretty sure it has done well in streaming. Everyone I know who's seen it really liked it. Problem now is Crowe, especially, and Bettany have aged considerably. They'd almost have to find 2 new leads. Indeed. Crowe has puffed up about like Nicholson. Grotesqueries of their former selves. Perhaps in a new movie about Admiral Jack Aubrey he can have gout and be wheeled about with his foot up with a large bandage. There could be a Curly Howard like character in his crew who keeps bumping into it causing cursing. Just a thought.... OK. I will be quiet.

Watching Safe House, which I've seen before. It reminds me that the First Rule of Hollywood car chases is that all cars are exactly equal. Why yes, yes, of course a Chevy van can accelerate and handle just as well as a BMW.

Brad, have you seen the movie "Harry Brown", 2009, with Michael Caine? He plays a retired Royal Marine veteran of the Falklands War living in a London slum where folks are victimized by gang thugs. His best friend is murdered and he seeks to set things right. If you have not seen it, I recommend it.

He has a great line towards the end having vanquished his foe. I think you will get a smile from it. I did.

Now I need to see the movie "Sully" ... catching up on my Tom Hanks. 😄 Watched Sully tonight...when the incident happened, two professional pilots in my circle, (independent of each other) spoke about what a magnificent feat Capt. Sully pulled off. If this movie is correct, I wanted to punch these chairborne rangers as they tried to second guess and scalp a person that they were not fit to shine the shoes of. It ended well though.

The cops here are decent enough, but you definitely don't want to get in front of a jury. That kind of thing would get all kinds of the wrong kind of attention.

It ended well though. I thought Tom Hanks did a fine job of making Captain Sullenberger even more of a hero which he certainly deserves. The NTSB and FAA have a job to do. If the movie made them appear villainous, well, that is Hollywood.

In January 1982, when the 49’ers defeated the Bengals I worked for a meat company that was unofficially the meat supplier for the 9’ers. Salesman Eddie Siefert (no relation to later coach George Siefert) was the conduit.
We celebrated at the famed institution of Sam’s Grill, and I was ignorant of the significance at the time, wish I had a do over on that one. Even so, it was all open on eats and drinks, we had a great time.

Saw Guardians 3 today. Had to get it in before the kids are out of school. To me it's the lesser of the 3 movies in the franchise. Too much CG and effects. Also, over the top cutsie creatures and characters. Think worse than Ewoks, but better than Jar Jar Binks. I'll give it a 3/5.
