Good Evening! It 76°, partly sunny, and breezy out here on the deck. Currently smoking a bowl of Peterson Flake in the MM Mark Twain cob and there's a bottle of cold water on the side. Have a good night, everybody!

Goldbrick - I hope you get over your poison ivy soon; I know that it is a miserable experience. Once, when I had a bad case of it with one eye almost swollen shut and blisters on top of blisters all over my hands, arms and face, my doctor gave me a shot of some steroid and prescribed a Z-pack of prednisone and it made the poison ivy miraculously dry up.

Good evening! Had a good hike at a local arboretum this afternoon and ate at Buddy's BBQ for lunch. Now smoking Carter Hall in a Dr. Grabow rusticated billiard and finishing off a mug of JFG coffee.

Yorktown in the Old Dominion stack billiard...up late with the poison ivy blues. I know that you must be miserable. I've been there. I had to take 7 rounds of prednisone before I got over it. If it's covering a large area, you might want to get to the doctor. Regardless, I hope you recover soon. you are correct, I can get my mind off it with the help of itch relief creams, and I'm fighting it with a scrub by Tec-nu, but after a time I 'll catch myself digging into my arms and hands like a madman. I'm getting ahead of it, but now my left leg has a spot below the knee, where fluid already builds up from high blood sugar issues...over the last month or so I've gotten the blood sugar numbers under control, and I'm more able to work in the yard, and this is my reward...win a few, lose a few I guess. Next up, Derby Club Aromatic in a G. Vecchio egg.

Thanks for your thoughts Tab, If I'm no better by Monday I may have to reach out to a Doctor... My G.P. has retired, and I haven't found a new one yet...I hate breaking in a new Doctor, but not as bad as i hate poison ivy/oak.

We got our bad case swinging on giant vines in the Puerto Rico rain forest. We were young. The cruise ship doctor ran out of prednisone before we could get back home. Real fun cruise.

She had a problem with fluid retention, it led to heart and lung congestion, and then to the hospital. She's doing okay, but isn't out of the woods yet. We don't know when she'll be sent home, but I think that she'll be there over the weekend.

Good Evening Again! It's 71° with a clear sky out here on the deck. It's warmer in the house and I had to turn on the a/c in order to get it cooled down after the sun beat down on the roof all afternoon. One of my favorite things to do is to snooze while a ball game is on TV and, when I woke up earlier, the Guardians were ahead of the Mets 5-3. Currently smoking a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB billiard with a bottle of cold water on the side. Kitchen cleanup is next after this and then to bed.

Good Saturday Morning! It's 63° here with a cloudy sky, rain on the way, and one of the workshop doors is wide open. Today I'll skip my hospital visit to see my wife because I need to make a supermarket run. I've started the smoking day with a bowl of Wessex Brown VA Flake that's over a year old in my best flake smoker, a Stanwell 29, and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table. Time to read my book. A great weekend to you all!

I just finished a bowl of Storm Front, mixed with some pre-1985 Prince Albert. I mixed these two shortly after Christmas, last year, after my pal, "Ben the Great" gave me the P.A. as a Christmas gift. Ben only thought to give me an antique tin, when he handed me the neatly wrapped, squatty 7oz paint can, and you should have seen the look on his face when I popped the lid and dug in for a bowl of nutty, but somewhat dry, goodness. After a week or so of enjoying the P.A. I began to wonder how long it would hold up in the open tub... I decided rather than remoisten it, I'd mix it with some of my more moist burleys. I remixed 3/4s of a jar of P.S. 702 Dark Burley, 3/4s jar of this Storm Front, and half a jar of Milan's Our Carter Hall, and I kept going till the P.A. all found it way into a jar. This morning I can tell you that the S.T./ P.A. experiment went well... the mix retained the spicy, zesty notes that endear it to me, with the added nuttiness of the P.A, plus the added benefit of less relites... Pipe used, an old 305 shaped Irish Seconds.

Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Saturday cob and coffee. Spent a little time in the workshop getting started on a couple estate clean-ups. Cool, cloudy, damp and breezy this morning (good weather for the workshop). When it starts to warm up, I'll be heading outside with some Pegasus in the same cob.
