I placed an add on Craigslist saying that I would buy old pipes, and tobacco advertising products. The first night a gentleman texts me and tells me that he has a humidor from his uncles estate. I told him to send me pics not thinking much about it. This is the humidor. I got it for a very cheap price. It is a David Linley for Alfred Dunhill humidor! WOW! Any information about the age of this or the value of this would be much appreciated. It is stellar!

You have some research to do. Find out who David Lindley is, identify the wood in the marquetry work and find if it rare. Dunhill had many of thier high end items sourced out. I think you may have something good here and if you have the key even better.

I have the key and I have done a little research on David Linley he is an artist in England and has some very high end stuff.

Search ended auctions in GB and eBay for Linley.

Now you must prove its authenticity. $8,000.00 cigar boxes will be counterfeited.

I saw his sight and was blown away by the price of those humidors. I just don't know if I have something of that caliber or if there is another lesser tier of humidors. I searched Ebay and only found one David Linley for Dunhill humidor under recent listing and it was listed at $4500.00 but didn't sell. Not much information out there.

Looks to be pretty nice box. I think you may have snagged a gem. His website has all sorts of other furnishings and accesories. None are cheap. You need to fill the humidor with $20 cigars.

WoW indeed! I've inspected humidors from Viscount Linley's shop many times over the years in Dunhill shops in NYC Chi LA Dallas and Vegas. The prices I've seen make humidors from Elie Bleu bargains. You're very lucky as I've dreamed of owing one.

Good on ya Mate!
If it's not the real deal, it's still an awesome find.
If it is the genuine article... Woohoo!

Just by looking at the craftsmanship no matter who made it, it's worth every penny what you paid and well over. It's certainly something to hang onto and will be a much cherished heirloom. It doesn't get much better than this sir, a bargain buy of a lifetime I would say.
