Checking in, a few days ago I smoked some 2021 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a Kaywoodie sandblasted panel billiard. The following day I smoked some John Cotton’s Dark and Stormy in a poker cob. Yesterday while pruning in the garden I smoked some C&D Pegasus in a polished 5th Ave showcob with blue/white swirl acylic saddlebit.

Weeded a couple flower beds. Now, on the back deck with some Briar Fox in the Wednesday cob and what's left of my coffee.

Good Afternoon! It's 86°, breezy, with moderate humidity and a mix of clouds and sun out here on the deck. Just stepped outside for a pipe and to listen to streaming music for a while. Currently smoking a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the MM Washington cob and there's a glass of cold water on the side.

That's one stunning pipe, John. Thanks! I was watching for just the right group 3 Apple for quite a while before I found that one last year.

I'm going to smoke my blending tobaccos individually to get a better idea of what they bring to a blend. I'm nearly finished with a bowl of C&D Dark Burley in a cob. This stuff is pretty robust and rich. Next up will be some red Virginia in another cob.

It's a pleasant evening with no baseball, so the porch it is. Dark Flake in a Kaywoodie bully, because my dentist says I'm not getting enough tar. Cold, fizzy hop tea with. Mmm...bitter.

I’ve been using the Dark Burley to add some strength and body to some Burley forward blends for a while now, it’s great stuff. Funny thing though, until I just read your post, it never occurred to me that I have never tried it by itself. You have inspired me to do that. I’m smoking Mac Baren Vanilla Roll Cake in a BC Origine.

I’m smoking Mac Baren Vanilla Roll Cake in a BC Origine. It's a pretty heady tobacco. I know someone who smokes it straight on a regular basis. I don't think I can do that. I've also read that it's the base for Haunted Bookshop (and possibly Three Friars, Pegasus...).

5/22 Warped St. Espresso in a 10 year old MM Great Dane Egg bent. This cob was a seconds cob from a Missouri Meerschaum 10 pipe grab bag with extra plaster around the bottom hardwood plug and now a big divet scraped out of the wall in the inside of the bowl. She keeps on smoking perfectly. Still the same bent Danish ABS plastic bit on it as 10 years ago. Hard to believe.

Tried the Dark Burley, Red Virginia and Bright Virginia. It's one thing to read descriptions, experiencing it is another. Not that it'll make me a better blender, but I can connect the written descriptions with my taste buds better. I'm gonna try some Izmir Turkish and then Perique next.

Experimenting completed, the Izmir was nice on its own and the Perique not as overwhelming as anticipated. Now, I'm smoking McConnell Scottish Cake in the Peterson B42 System Spigot.

Good Morning! It's 71°, breezy with a clear sky, and both workshop doors are open to the cool air here at dawn. This afternoon is the garbage pickup, so the bin will go out to the street when I leave for Home Depot and the supermarket. The first smoke of the day is HH Pure VA Flake as always in a Savinelli Venere 128 and the usual travel mugga fresh coffee is on the tobacco table. Have a good, safe one, everybody!

I smoke Stokkebye's Dark Burley 702 on it's own all the time; it's a favorite of mine, but I have no idea how it stacks up to C&Ds dark burley, but I can say that the 702 dark is far smoother than Stokkebye's 312 burley.

Good Late Morning! It's 79°, breezy, and with a mix of clouds and sunshine out here on the deck. Just right for enjoying a pipe and reading. Finishing up a bowl of Peterson Flake in the Sav smooth billiard before lunch and there's a second travel mugga coffee on the side.
