It's 72°, breezy, and with a mostly cloudy sky out here on the deck. Decided to have an after-dinner pipe in the cool evening air...a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Mark Tain and there's a plastic mugga cold water on the side. G'night, everybody!

MacBaren Symphony in my freshly cleaned Hillson egg. This old workhorse underwent a treatment with cotton balls and Absolut vanilla flavored vodka on Friday, followed by a general cleaning and a good rest until moments ago. The whisper of Vanilla, left by the vodka, plays well with the casing on the Symphony, and makes for an enjoyable smoke. I'll be sticking with this tobacco until every bit of the Vodka taste is gone, and working with Everclear on pipes employed for non- aro or English blends.
Only coffee was consumed during this experiment; no vodka, no Everclear!

Good Morning! It's 60° here with a clear, starry sky and one of the workshop doors is wide open to the cool air. I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep, so I started my usual routine by making the coffee and feeding Lily the Cat. I'll take a nap later on. The smoking day has begun with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Peterson Rosslare 106 and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table. A good day to you all!  |

Good Almost Afternoon! It's a warm 77° with bright sunshine and billows of white clouds passing along in the blue sky out here on the deck. The humidity is at 65% and more comfortable than trying to breath watery air for a change. Just the usual chores today along with some pipe time and reading outside unless it gets too hot. But, hey... it's Summer. Currently smoking another bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Pete smooth billiard and there's a second travel mugga coffee on the side.

Earlier, it was Stokkebye Twilight Mixture while helping our son with a couple things. Now, Haunted Bookshop in the Monday cob after mowing the lawn. Kinda hot for that type of work, but it's gonna rain most of this week.

A light, cool breeze is blowing making for a comfortable time to sit outside right now and to get away from the TV news. Good evening all, having a late start today... My biggest bowl filled with a, what I thought was long ago finished, Va/Per, Drexel VIII in a Peterson Shamrock with a Butz stem. I don't understand the relationship they had, one to supply the bowl and the other to supply the stem??? A bottle of cool water alongside...  I really need a new picture of this pipe... |
