Settling down out in the cold for my first bowl of John Cotton Smyrna in the Bentley prince: Nice tight grain on that one. Thanks, Herb. It's one of my favorites. Picked it up as an estate pipe a while back. It's got a nice big bowl, too, without being heavy.

That Smyrna was pretty crispy out of the tin, so it didn't smoke very long. Flavor was nice, though, once I got about halfway down the bowl. Before that, it was a bit sharpish.

Good Sunday Morning! It's 27° here with a mostly cloudy sky. Yesterday's installation of the safety tread strips on the workshop entrance ramp really wore me out. I slept like a rock and woke up less than an hour ago. This afternoon I have to make a supermarket run, do some laundry, and that will be it. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Peterson Rosslare 106 smooth billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!

This shoulder recovery hasn’t been quite so bad up until today. Up all night in agony with pain. I made a cup of coffee and loaded up a Sean Reum pipe with Germain’s Special Latakia Flake. I’m gonna go sit on the porch and listen to the rain. Cheers!

Good Morning Again! It's still cloudy here and at 31°. I'm smoking a bowl of Limerick Flake in the ol' Peterson Rosslare smooth billiard while occasionally sipping my coffee. Time to check the headline news.

41 Degrees, and overcast here this morning, as I sip on a wonderful first cup of coffee. I'm puffing on some Sutliff's Estate Burley in my Savinelli Estella 606.

Finishing up a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Pete smooth billiard and sipping at the last of the coffee in the mug before heading back to the house. This pipe is an old veteran and smokes wonderfully. The original trademark Rosslare butterscotch-colered stem broke at the button, so I sent it off for a replacement. The new amber-colored stem must have been a stock replacement and was almost a good fit. The tenon is just a bit too short for the mortise and creates turbulence in the gap that also accumulates gunk. Regardless, it's the second pipe that I bought about ten years ago and is a real favorite of mine.

But my refrigerator doesn’t make ice fast enough lol!

Yeah, I had to send the wife for Ice. My unit was not like the one pictured (insulated tank), it was just a clear plastic container. My neighbor does online grocery shopping and put a big styrofoam box at the curb, easy to modify, and it gave the reservoir a lot longer time between adding ice.
The unit though, was pretty awesome.

Digging through the cellar, I have several quart jars of Dunhill bulk (My Mixture 965, Nightcap, Early Morning Pipe etc..) from 2014 that I never really delve into.
Headed out for a walk today with some 965 in a Cheratan Canadian.

Happy Sunday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Sunday cob and coffee. A loaf of sourdough is baking in the oven.

9/2022 Low Country Atalaya in a Christmas 2021 Savinelli Bing’s Favorite (stamped “Bing’s Colorate) with green/white swirl acrylic stem. Just popped the first tin from last year’s release and it’s aging well at 14 months. The first bowl is tasting of a very familiar C&D/Greg Pease quality dark mahogany shade of Virginia and buttery smooth Oriental leaf with just a faint hint of the genuine St. James Perique. In the same vein as something like Temple Bar, Embarcadero, etc. and half way into my first bowl, the St James is coming into it’s own mildly and reminding me very much of Jack Knife Plug, or more aptly, like G.L. Pease Triple Play. About a dollar and some change cheaper than Pease brand and a limited edition. I put 4 tins in the cellar on the initial release for 9/2022 and a few this year. I’ll have to get a few more tins if they’re still in stock and on sale.

Plum Pudding in Peterson sandblasted 9BC ring grain. I need to add Plum Pudding to my next order. That’s a good one and I haven’t had it in quite a few years.

Edwards sitter Algerian that weighs 102 grams, shape 25 and smoking Dunhill My Mixture 965 (not pictured, that is Bullseye flake.) Such thick walls on this one, the only possibility of a burnout is a lightning strike. $5 six packs of Shiner Bock, so that is the beverage.
