Oh, my animal visitor for tonight's smoke was a big ol' possum that came trundling along the top of my fence. I heard it before I could see it. Whatever it was, I barked a brisk "hey!" at it. The possum, of course, took no notice of me and came right on toward the end of the fence I was sitting nearest, then past me onto the neighbor's fence.
I imagine it had been hey!'d at a few times before.

Good Morning! It's a balmy 66° here with a cloudy sky and breezy right now as we experience an interesting weather phenomenon. The temperature actually rose over night but will begin to drop as the hours go by. We stayed home yesterday and maybe we'll go sneaker shopping for my wife this afternoon. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Freestyle smooth half-bent pot and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one, everybody!

The temperature here has dropped 14° over the last two hours here and it's still cloudy. I'm taking a break from my mystery video and smoking a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the BBB Freestyle while sipping some more coffee. Time to check the headline news.

Good Morning Again! It's 49° here with a cloudy sky. Still in the workshop and finishing up with a bowl of Scottish Flake in the BBB Freestyle pot before heading back to the house. There's also some coffee left in the mug.

Over the past few days it’s been Sutliff Maple Street and 2015 C&D cube-cut burley in a Mark Twain, 2021 C&D Miskatonic Mixture, and now 2021 Haunted Bookshop in the same cob.

I used to think they were so ugly when I was younger but they can apparently be very friendly and loving when raised from babies.

Unfortunately, not much of his production comes to the US (most goes/went to Asia) and he's in the twilight of his career. I haven’t seen him post any pipes on his FB page in a long time.

I'm smoking Balkan Flake, by SG, which bears a strong likeness to the now discontinued Bracken Flake. There may be some mild Lakeland essence, but just mild mind you...Rosewater or Geranium I surmise. Representatives from SG claim there is nothing added. Bracken Flake was discontinued several years ago because certain tobaccos could not be sourced. Bracken flake was more stout than this Balkan Flake, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly. Balkan Flake is more of a medium blend and available at several online stores, if you'd like to give it a try.

I think the commonly held theory is that any blend made in their factory is going to end up with some Lakeland essence in it, just from being processed by the same equipment.
