Good Morning! It's a very cold 21° here with a mostly clear sky. This afternoon I have to mail a package for my wife and then make a supermarket run. Starting the smoking day with the bits and pieces from the bottom of the HH Pure VA Flake jar in the Upshall smooth quarter-bent Dublin and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my insulated work coat. Have a good one everybody!

Good Morning Again! It's still 21° here with a clear sky. Today's high temperature will be in the lower 40°s so, with the help of some sunshine, this snow will start to melt. Currently smoking a bowl of Straight Grain Flake in the Upshall Dublin. Usual routine... check the headline news while sipping my coffee.

One last pipe before heading back to the house. I just lit up a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Upshall Dublin while doing my daily search of vintage railroad postcards online and sipping the rest of my coffee.

Good morning. We are experiencing uncharacteristically warm weather in Winnipeg, it's a little bit depressing because we may not have snow cover for Christmas. In fact, temperatures are forecasted above freezing for a few days this week.
I opted for Plum Pudding Special Reserve in my MM Charlestowne Cobbler this morning. Nice pipe, easy smoker but I was disappointed with this tobacco the last time. Already decided it is not worth purchasing again, now I'm deciding whether I should just throw the remainder out. The last cubes from the plug have disappointed me. My pipes are clean - nothing is sour, no signs at all of fur in the jar - nothing of mine lasts that long anyway.
Maybe it's just me.

Greets & happy HumpDay for those affected. MacBaren latakia flake in Preben Holm smooth volcano, Coke to side. My tampers BTW, always been wooden dowling. 1/2" for most pipes, 3/4" when with a magnum. Have seen pics of fancy tamps, rather spend on baccy. These two at least 40yrs old. Have hacksaw & plenty left of the dowling just in case have to make more
37, to 40, should stay overcast
Ed-dealing with for past 3hrs, just usual slow

I like that tobacco, but I've never smoked it in a cob. Have you tried it in something else? Yes, meers, my clay, a maplewood pipe, several briars. Something was just off about it. I smoked several bowls today in my Cobbler and in a small meer and could not reproduce the bitterness I experienced two days ago. I'm thinking it may be palate fatigue because I used the same two pipes, or just an off chunk. I rotate tobaccos with regularity so it does still puzzle me but once you eliminate all the outliers in the equation... Nothing else I smoke has ever led to ghosting and my pipe maintenance is good. Go figure.

Filled my Cobbler with Plum Pudding SR this evening and did my Christmas decorating. Just a small lighted ceramic tree, some candles and seasonal fruit and nuts in shell. It's only me in my little place with Goober, the cat. I look forward to my little Christmas, though. It all comes down again on Jan 2.
There were no shenanigans from the tobacco this time, as I mentioned to Urb earlier, I think it was a one off.
