Bought some Daughter and Ryan "small cigars" some years back, a buck a pack from Mark Ryan...for Picayune and Rimboche...smoke them like a pipe, you do not have to inhale...sweet smokes, and all natural. Thinking the rest will be jarred for the future.

2020 Cringle Flake in a Lorenzo sitter. This will be the tobacco for December. I have never smoked a tin of Cringle flake, have several cellared...probably time to get off my duff.

Maiden smoke in this Orlik De Luxe tonight with a bowl of Margate. I have been trying to pick one of these up for years. I know Orlik pipes aren’t anything special, but I love Orlik tobacco and I’ve always wanted a pipe. Cheers! Ps: Looking for someone to restore this Beattie Jet lighter too, if you know someone…

Ps: Looking for someone to restore this Beattie Jet lighter too, if you know someone… What is going on with the Beattie lighter? It functions last I tried a couple years ago. I need to buy some fluid tomorrow and give it a try. However, it has lots of carbon build up on the jet and around the wick. Plus the plating is worn. Trying to see if I can find someone to clean it up, maybe re-plate it, and fix if anything needs fixing.

Trying to see if I can find someone to clean it up, maybe re-plate it, and fix if anything needs fixing. The carbon should be easy to clean up with an Everclear soaked Q-tip...maybe these tutorials can help. As for replating, sometimes that hurts the value, if that is a consideration. duckduckgo.com/?q=beattie+jet+lighter+repair&atb=v391-1&ia=web

I actually used to use it, and plan to continue using it. I don't ever plan to get rid of it. I'd prefer it to look good again and function as it should.

I have a few 2019 and 2020 tins. And alternate each December. Maybe next yaar, I’ll open 1 of each and compare them! Lol

Good Morning! It's 38° here with a cloudy sky. Today I'm really and honestly going to get a flu shot at the veterans clinic in Canton along with any other inoculations that are available. I've only been putting it off since late September, so it's time. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Upshall smooth quarter-bent Dublin and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Have a good one everybody!

Working on a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Upshall Dublin. To me this tobacco seems to be a bit lighter and sharper than the HH Pure VA Flake, but is still smooth and easy to smoke. Watching my usual streaming videos and sipping my coffee.

Good Morning Again! It's now 37° with a mostly cloudy sky here. Currently smoking a bowl of fresh Straight Grain Flake in the Upshall Dublin. This tobacco comes packaged as an almost solid block of compressed flakes and at a good moisture level. There's just enough Perique in the blend to give it depth and a rich, delicious flavor. Always a favorite of mine. Time to sip some more coffee and check the headline news.

My family and I spent the last five days in Connecticut to attending my sister’s wedding. We got back home to Virginia yesterday. the house is a mess, piles of laundry need to be folded, etc. I’m am still recovering from that shoulder operation and trying to help out around the house as best I can with only one arm. So here I am babysitting a rack of ribs in the smoker all day while my wife is at work. I loaded up the Orlik again with another bowl of Margate and working on my third cup of coffee. 18 more days until I go back to work.

Good morning! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Monday cob and coffee. Very full day yesterday, with the first week of winter trap shooting league and family activities. Today will be a bit more quiet. I'll get back into the workshop for a bit.
