A brisk 8 degrees (F) this morning while out at the wood pile. No worry. I have my Peterson Strand from the Sherlock Holmes Collection, complete with sterling silver band, stuffed with Erinmore to keep me warm and mobile.

A brisk 8 degrees (F) this morning while out at the wood pile. No worry. I have my Peterson Strand from the Sherlock Holmes Collection, complete with sterling silver band, stuffed with Erinmore to keep me warm and mobile. I remember days like that in the high altitudes of New Mexico. C ski weather with a tee-shirt. At this altitude, (360'),you need 6 layers. Turned out beautiful here this afternoon. I just exposed my upper body to the Great Sunlamp in the sky. 10 minutes on each side felt so good. I expect it to take the rash down another notch. Nap soon.

Felt like something with a little “punch” this afternoon, so I’m smoking Brown Irish X in my newer Stanwell HCA. I’m still rather disappointed with this pipe. My vintage one is one of my favorite pipes, really quality fit and finish and smokes fantastic. This newer production version is mediocre, but I keep giving it chances.
