Didn't feel like grilling outside or cooking inside. Dinner was assorted salami, sausage, cheese and sourdough.

A very decent Coq au Vin if one can tolerate the lack of pearl onions and mushrooms. Sigh. How I wish a market was closer than 45 miles! Or, one of my "neighbors" would pick up something for me when they go town. I realize that is asking a lot.

Navy Beans and Ham Shanks. The last of what I did not freeze for storage.
Tonight will be my half assed Coq au Vin. It is tasty but I miss the pearl onions and mushrooms.

Large jalopeño (de-veined) with romano cheese and prosciutto lightly MWed. ![](https://i.postimg.cc/7YKFk1pB/IMG-5227.jpg) De-veining is most easily done with a grapefruit spoon from the cut end. Degree of hotness can be adjusted by the amount of septum left, from full-hot to nothing at all.

Guys, thanks for the condolences, but today was more of a celebration of a life, with the guest of honor still with us. She laughed a lot. Very few tears. Sorry I'm just catching up on this...I just wanted to say that I think a gathering of this kind is of a much greater value than anything that might happen after she passes. Sounds like you come from really fine people . My folks used to say, if you can't come to visit while I'm walking around, don't make a fuss when I'm gone.

There were about 16 people there, some traveling 600+ miles. She was overwhelmed. And so happy.
