From SmokingPipes, 1 lb. of LBF, and, at last, the right Charatan for me:
They call it the "Special Dublin". No idea what makes it "special", but I do like the grain and I like the lack of a comfort stem. Seems to be in very good shape, too.
That's a very classy pipe.

That's a very classy pipe. Thanks, Russ. I've had my eye out for a Charatan for a few years. I'm not really a fan of their comfort stem, though, so that eliminated an awful lot of possibilities. From what was left, I just hadn't found anything I liked well enough to pay the asking price. This one finally ticked the boxes.

Soon to be in the mail is a good auction win that I had today for an unsmoked Sven Knudsen blasted Lovat. Yet another Dane is now represented in my collection. ๐ Sven was Teddy Knudsen's older brother. If you donโt know who I am talking about, here is his story on Pipedia: pipedia.org/wiki/Knudsen,_Sven

a new keyboard for my computer There's something very refreshing about a new keyboard.
Arrived earlier: my pound of LBF and that Charatan Dublin. It really does have nice grain. The shank is a bit chunky for my taste, but I like the pipe. Hope I can smoke it sometime in the next couple of days.

A new pair of rubber-soled moccasins for indoor/porch use. I got into the habit of wearing my old ones in the yard, and have dedicated them for outdoor use. Once I mowed the lawn in them, I decided it was time to get another pair that will stay clean.

Time to clean it out.
