Good Morning Again! It's now 28° and cloudy here in our neighborhood. I just finished watching a pretty bad movie from 1941 called "Among the Living" on YouTube. Oh, well... I'll try to find a better one later. Currently smoking a bowl of Wessex Brown VA Flake in the Upshall Dublin while occasionally sipping my coffee. Time to check the headline news.

My own mixture, Carolina Blue, in a Savinelli Estella Non-Pariel 9004, coffee on the side. 49F here this morning, seems cold after the past few days of temps in the upper sixties.

Good afternoon all. The winds came back overnight and brought back the crisp air, but it’s a fine partly sunny day for mid-March. I’m smoking Stockton in a Savinelli Bing’s favorite. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day.

Just smoked a bowl of Rustica leaf I got last week. My first time smoking plain leaf Rustica, I’ve smoked a number of different Mapacho and related tobaccos from South America before, but they’re always flavored and treated in some fashion so it was interesting to check out the pure flavor. This leaf gave me flashbacks to really hard to get cigarettes from Eastern Europe in the 80’s.

2016 Old Joe Krantz in a Country Gent. turbocat - I was going to grow some rustica this year, keep forgetting to start seeds of it that I should’ve started weeks back but it’s small and grows fine in a pot anyway, and a short season grower. I should start some this weekend.

Watch City Slices in a Karlheinz Joura. Whatever made you decide to break out of your routine and smoke this pipe, you should keep doing it. I’ve got a John Cotton belge like this one. Mine has what you would call “no grain.”

I should start some this weekend. I have read that it’s an easier grow than common tobaccos. I had a somewhat failure growing a Virginia plant in the past, but that was mostly due to not knowing what I was doing at the time. I’ve considered trying again with a Rustica plant or two though. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts and results.

Kipling was said to take Twain to task for smoking Turkish tobacco in a "lowly American corncob pipe." Twain was said to have replied that "this, sir, is not a corncob pipe. It is a 'Missouri Meerschaum.'"

Went to the VA for the first of three appointments this week. Next weeks the same again... then I get a week off and repeat it same again... So I guess I’ll put my road warrior hat on and go with the flow... Meanwhile back at the home it will be a nice bowl of St Bruno in the Jobey Meerschaum Filter... if I ever find out who has some Meerschaum filters and they are affordable I might just have to try them... A large sweet tea alongside... Now let’s see if my hosting service is back working... Yea! Success!
