Good Wednesday morning to all of the Patch, well, we're expecting a 'weather bomb' to hit the Irish North West around lunchtime here, it's already making itself known. 😯 Starting the day with some Dunhill Flake in the Derry 03, hope you all have a good one, n' happy smokes! ‘Weather bomb’ sounds a bit scary. Are you on the coast? The full moon + storm usually means some tidal issues for us here in the mid-Atlantic, wondering if you experience similar concerns.

Good Morning Again! It's 43°, cloudy, and very damp here. The workshop is a bit chilly without having any heat due to the GFCI being tripped, but my trusty blankets are keeping me warm enough. I finished up a bowl of fresh Wessex Brown VA Flake and I'm currently smoking a bowl of Bayou Morning Flake in the Pete smooth billiard while occasionally sipping my coffee. Time to check the headline news.

Cyclonic system coming from the North, Iceland/Greenland Dan, bringing some snow too I gather,

Working on a bowl of Limerick Flake in the Pete smooth billiard while sipping my coffee and watching a hokey 1958 sci-fi movie, "The Attack of the Puppet People".

A few more inches of snow overnight. Sunny now and predicted to warm into the 40s (F). Erinmore Flake in a Lancelot Canadian. Last night, a Romeo y Julieta Vintage Churchill and good it was.

Sutliff's RL-PR in a 3 star smooth pot from Pipes By Lee, coffee on the side. My world is cloudy and overcast today; the rest of Russ's downpour must be coming my way.

Busy day today. Decided to change up what I’ve been smoking. I’m smoking C&D Steamworks in a vintage Stanwell HCA. Steamworks is SO good, but I’m hesitant to open my only other couple tins anytime soon after losing most my first tin to mold.

You aren’t missing anything. Like most GLP and C&D Virginia blends, Embarcadero needs a minimum of 12 months of age to properly open up and meld. I once popped a two months young tin of this blend, jarred it, and smoked a bowl every couple months. Good to know im not missing out on anything. 2007 is going to be vastly different than something with a couple years on it. If you like it, might want to give it a try. I love Embarcadero with 2-3 years only on it.

Happy Wednesday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob and coffee. It's a cool 40 degrees and cloudy here. Gonna get the freshly painted spare bedroom put back together.

Stunning lines. 😍 I've been thinking about picking up a few 'famous' US otc blends on my next order, Carter Hall and Walter Raleigh for sure, anything else you'd recommend?

I think you said you had held one a lot like this one, but maybe you said "picked up" and I just misunderstood what you meant.

I honestly haven't tried that many of them. I'd recommend Amphora. I get their Virginia blend, but the more famous one is an aromatic just called "Amphora". I tried Velvet and wasn't much taken with it. Others here can probably make better recommendations.

Steamworks is SO good, but I’m hesitant to open my only other couple tins anytime soon after losing most my first tin to mold. Reading that sent chills down my spine! Now I’m thinking about letting my jarred tin air out a bit. I still have seven more, but I certainly don’t want to waste any. Someone I talk to elsewhere opened two cans of Anthology last week and both were moldy in the cans. C&D seems to be occasionally carried away with the fact that water is cheaper than tobacco. Adds weight, and mold.
