You don’t have to buy the whole tub. You can buy the match blend from Sutliff. how well does sutliff match compare? I really enjoy the flavor of PA I could smoke it all day. Also PA was a favorite of my grandpa so the smell is comforting and reminiscent to me. If you venture into the Sutliff match blends, try a small sample of the Holiday match; turbocat sent me a bag of that a while back, and i really enjoyed it...I tried the original back in the day and didn't care for it, as I was still an aro-only puffer then...thank goodness taste buds change with time. The Holiday match was mildly aromatic, but not so much that you miss the tobacco.

80 degrees and overcast outside today, looks like we may be in for a few days of rain, and a welcomed break in the heat. With my coffee, this morning, I have MacBaren Symphony in a bent billiard from Pipes by Lee.

Happy Wednesday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob and coffee on the front porch. It's 71, sunny, breezy and less humid here. We're in for a stretch of cooler, drier here. Gonna head out to the garden shortly, and check to see how the rainwater is draining.

Blended up a batch of Friar's Bayou last night. Smoking some now, in the barrel-shaped meerschaum.

2010 OJK in the Savinelli 123. 2008 to 2012 were good years for OJK. 👍

Good Afternoon! It's 71°, cloudy, humid, and with a light breeze out here on the deck. The humidity is making my spine ache, but I did manage to get to the pharmacy. Just a blah day for me although I am enjoying a bowl of Scottish Flake in the Stanwell 29 smooth billiard while listening to streaming music from WQXR in NYC. There's a glass of cold water on the side and I think that I'll read a bit.

For PA (and Carter Hall), I get an unpleasant strong chemical taste when lighting and for the first few puffs. That does not happen with the alternatives such as Prince Andrew, Chatham Manor or the Match blends. Also, all the alternatives are made with better quality tobacco. Some why spend as much or more for PA? That said, we each have our own individual tastes and each is valid. What I love, someone else will hate. What I hate, someone else will love. The beauty of pipe smoking is that no one is wrong. Except when you, specifically, are wrong about pipe shapes.

Having another bowl of 2020 Gawith Navy Flake this time in a Stanwell rusticated billiard. It’s a pretty steady rain along the bayshore now, at least it keeps down the bugs. This is one of those blends I forget about, but when I pick back up, I really enjoy it. Masterful blending and it harmonizes nicely with the salt smell in the air. Hope you have a good one!

We don’t have a full time classical music station in Philadelphia anymore since WFLN was bought out years ago. Thank goodness for streaming. I enjoy WCRB out of Boston as well. Happy listening!

I listen to both the classical selections and the "New Standards". I'll have to check out WCRB....thanks for the suggestion.

First time trying the last of the tobaccos a friend sent me from Brazil. This one is the “Autêntico”. I laughed when I opened the pouch to find yet another “Warning- you’re going to die” pictures, but this one looked like someone pleasuring himself more than having a heart attack! 😃😂😂

I wonder how the lake levels are doing. St. Clair is 8" above average. The Great Lakes are all slightly above average, how much varies from lake to lake.
