2010 OJK in the Savinelli 123. 2008 to 2012 were good years for OJK. 👍 The hay day. The age makes Joe almost too smooth. Really good stuff.

Captain Black Copper in my 221-B Baker Street briar calabash, not what I was looking for, or thinking of, and I have no homework on it at all...so I need to smoke more of it, too soon to speak of it. the pipe was, I think, my fifth purchase from The Tinder Box, a long time ago...still works too!

I use Imgbb. Their servers are intermittently slow at serving up the content, and image requests time out. It's usually very brief. In other words it's your fault. Naturally!

For PA (and Carter Hall), I get an unpleasant strong chemical taste when lighting and for the first few puffs. That does not happen with the alternatives such as Prince Andrew, Chatham Manor or the Match blends. Also, all the alternatives are made with better quality tobacco. Some why spend as much or more for PA? That said, we each have our own individual tastes and each is valid. What I love, someone else will hate. What I hate, someone else will love. The beauty of pipe smoking is that no one is wrong. Except when you, specifically, are wrong about pipe shapes.

Good Morning! It's 68°, humid, and with a cloudy sky here before first light. My sleep schedule is off balance again, so I'm up early. This afternoon's high temperature will be in the upper 80°s and I think it'll be a good time to stay inside, scan postcards, work on my blog, and watch baseball. Getting the smoking day going with a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the BBB Freestyle smooth bent billiard and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the workshop tobacco table. Have a good one everybody!

Good morning! Had a nice smoke on the front porch of Carter Hall and something else. I mixed it up before I left and can't think of what it was, but it smoked nice. Hope everyone is doing well this morning and surviving this relentless summer. It's been a busy one for me and my arms are bearing the battlemarks of branches from some heavy trimming of trees, etc. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm ready for fall. I always enjoy the pipe more in the cooler months. Have a good one!

Happy Thursday! Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Thursday cob and coffee on the front porch. It's 72, cloudy, humid with a light breeze. No rain in the forecast, so I'll be working in the yard and garden today.

Captain Black Copper in the Brebbia apple...I laid this tobacco out in the dry/spill tray at 1:30 this morning, and while it may never dry out, it was some improved. Had I named this blend I would have called it "C.B. Original Plus"...it has a tad more of the original sauce on it, plus something extra, that I can't get a grip on, but I know it's not something I'll keep on hand as I do the Royal. I still haven't tried the Platinum or the Grape, so I still have a reason to live, but the Copper gets one more chance, then it's back to the cellar!

Mowed the back lawn and now, it's break time again. Friar's Bayou in the Thursday cob and a mug of cold water. It's 87°, very humid, and cloudy here right now. I'm going to wait and see if a shower comes through before venturing out to the deck for an afternoon pipe.

Good Afternoon! It's 88°, very humid, occasional sunshine, and cloudy out here on the deck. We may get a shower soon, so I thought that I'd have a pipe before it starts. Smoking a bowl of Scottish Flake in the small Kaywoodie Relief Grain apple with streaming music and a glass of cold water on the side.

I’m puffing Dan Tobacco’s Da Vinci in a Rattray’s: Beltane’s Fire Natural Smooth pipe. Both the weather and the tobacco are very mild. Most enjoyable smoke. an amaretto Disaronno would be really nice right now, but I’m too lazy to go into the house to get some.

Happy Thursday folks, I started out early with a bowl of Navy Flake in a Sasieni rusticated billiard. Or I should say an “Ole England” by Sasieni that I figure has a fill in it but I’ve not found it. Busy wet morning, with pups wanting to do their thing rather than my thing. But I’m back on the lake with a small bowl of Inns of Court. Storms are all around. Once Debby clears the area we’re set for some fine weather. Enjoy your evening friends!

Rain, rain, rain...just before it started my friend and neighbor came down, latter in hand, and up on my roof he went, to hose out my downspouts and clean my gutters , what a Guy!!!
I'm inside, nice and dry, with MacBren Symphony in the Kaywoodie freehand.
