Already almost like summer here this week. 73F before daybreak, expected high in the mid 80s. Cool down coming back though next week. First smoke is Hearth and Home Louisiana Red in a smooth silver banded Savinelli Canadian with a 6mm balsa filter, drinking Trader Joe's coffee and listening to NPR. Need to cut lawn today as a lot of rain in the forecast for the next coming week.

Productive morning. Walked two miles with the cattle dog. Came home, got out the chainsaw and dropped the rest of my dead tree. The firewood is now stacked. Cut the lawn too. Banner day already for an old guy and it's just noon.
Smoking 2013 C&D Opening Night in an MM Country Gent in the work barn. I get a little citrus when first firing up the bowl which dissipates fairly quickly giving way to more grassy and earthy notes. I also detect an apple cider kind of sourness but it doesn't overpower. This one could work for those turned off by stronger ketchup and vinegar tastes associated with straight red Vas. Strength is medium and nic kick is fine for wimps like me. Not an all day smoke for me and might burn a little hot if huffed on. I have so much Va in the cellar I likely won't purchase anymore but it's a good clean smoke to the bottom that's easy to enjoy.
Drinking ice tea with lemon and finishing up some trimming this afternoon.
