I did some googling on Ed's father's full name, as listed in the linked obit. I haven't found anything directly connecting him to the Manhattan Project, but I did find papers and books by him from that time period on the topics of identifying and isolating uranium compounds, which certainly would have been relevant to the MP. Safe to say he was involved in one way or another. He always told me that he was damaged, his brain was deprived of oxygen when he was born. Pulling my leg? I never thought he was not on top of things, especially for his age.

You could tell there was an intensely bright guy in there, though, and he did amazingly well for himself. I admired him.
