Don't get me wrong, I love Texas...fantastic history, underrated dining on barbecue and German food....the country folk are generally pretty darn awesome...and heck, George Strait lives there. Love me some Mac Davis. You ever SEEN Lubbock? I've been to Lubbock quite a few times, there is a relay yard there. Dusty is all I can say. Lol

Ron...is that a senior Min Pin you have as your avatar? God, I hope not. I was thinking Chihuahua. Min-Pins are mean little bastids. I have to disagree..I have 3 and they are the sweetest dogs ever!

I'm with you Ron. Every one of those little "Rat" dogs I've ever had contact with (my moms, grandma, cousins, mother in laws, neighbors) are terrible. They suck up to their owners and are obnoxious little brats to anyone else. Just my $.02

My mom had a chihuahua, she got it before i was born. The dog adored my mother, liked my grandmother and tolerated my Dad and grandfather. That dog hated me and my brother, but she distinctly hated my brother more. We did tease the dog a little bit when we were very young, but I think that was more because the dog would growl at us and we couldn't pet it. After we were teenagers and hadn't teased the dog in over a decade, she would sit on the end of the couch with me and not growl at me, but if she even seen my brother walk by in another room she'd growl. For a long time I couldn't figure that out, because he hadn't done anything worse to the dog than I had done. Finally I realized that the dog was jealous of my brother because he was Mom's favorite. I didn't care because I was Dad's favorite, but the dog certainly did. SO I think the real reason that little dogs are obnoxious is that they bond to one person (their owner) and are very territorial and jealous. That and a touch of "little man syndrome."

About 2 regular states or 3 Original Colonies worth. Between Austin and San Antonio is about as good country as you can find. Lubbock is like the Bakersfield of Texas. Better people and college, though.

SO I think the real reason that little dogs are obnoxious is that they bond to one person (their owner) and are very territorial and jealous. That and a touch of "little man syndrome." My aunt had 2 chihuahuas that bit my ankles every time they saw me. Another aunt had one of those pop-eyed little dogs with red hair that was the same. My sister in law had a min-pin that hated everyone but her. My uncle had 3 chihuahuas that were as sweet as could be. In every case, the dogs matched the personalities of the owners. There was one chihuahua that attacked me while I was climbing out of my girlfriend's bedroom window, but I don't hold that against him as it was the middle of the night. We are on our third consecutive Yorkie, and 2 of the 3 have been great. The one that was was one my wife rescued from the pound which was already 6 years old when he came to live with us. Mean little bastard, but I cut him slack because the wife loved him and he had a hard life. The little female we have now has stolen my heart.

My dad was a fiddle player in a dance band in Kosse and probably the influence that got Bob Wills started.

How dark is your ceramic at this point? Good to see you. The 2 Zeniths I have aren't getting much use. I haven't had a chance to smoke much lately. They are showing just the slightest bit of color on the bottoms. I suppose yours are totally brown. I haven't smoked it so much while it's been so hot because it's a massive bowl, but it's pretty brown. I'll hVe to take some new pictures once I smoke it again.

We the members of the Briar Patch from Clay Center KS (formerly from Manhattan KS) salute you..

“ The city got its name from one of the original founders/settlers, Pleasant Smith Humble, ”
Ron had to move.
He no longer was a pleasant fellow, and he was not humble. He had to catch a fast horse out of town before the lynch party showed up.

Humble, Texas. An anti-oxymoron? Gee, never heard that before. If you look up the town you will see that it has nothing to be humble about.
