User Tagging When typing a reply in a thread, you can tag a member. If you hover over the members name in their mini profile, you will see a member name with an @ symbol. If you type that, it will tag the member and notify them they have been tagged in a post. I won't say exactly how long it took me to figure out how to "cut and paste", but I'm making up for lost time now! Looks like it's just adding the "@" to a member's name. |

When you mention someone in a post, it's for drawing their attention to a post. It alerts them. just as you get notifications that someone liked your post, when someone tags you it should give you a notification "p120d16y mentioned you in a post" if I were to say "Hey jitterbugdude , I finally bought that tobacco we were talking about." For example. |

It is all dependent on their notification settings as well, but yes, it's to draw attention to a post.
