I already have three, a red, a blue and an orange. They are light and smoke well.

I haven´t seen them here in Germany before but hope that they will show up. They look like fun!
edit: I have just found one shop in Germany that carries them. They are Euro 50,-- and by that much more expensive than a cob but have roughly the same price like a Falcon. Well, I might try them one day....

We are waiting for the Arizona pipe club pipe of the year edition, with a copper stem. They should be along any day now. By the way your membership is due, in lieu of that just stop by Costco and pick up a bottle of the cheap generic scotch for the next meeting.

I could never get into the metal stemmed pipes. However for those who like them, this appears to be a decent deal.

Nice work, Charlie. I'm going to track one down. Arango is the distributor... Probably cheaper online and stocked somewhere now.

The main thing they are missing is a cob liner. I'd love to have a cob that didn't look like a cob.
Who was looking for a briar that didn't look like briar?

I would love to get one of these! And after some research, I see that finding one used is rare which I assume means people don't give them up once they get them.
If anyone has one they want to part with, I don't really care what color it is

It could be that...or it could also mean that they didn't sell very many...

These things look like they would smoke HOT.... Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. At least cobs insulate and breathe a bit.

They actually smoke surprising well and do not burn hot. My only "complaint" is the preformed bit is just barely above MM cob standards.

BUT, this a great way to use blocks that wouldn't make a good full briar. I like that they lessen the waste of "bad" briar. It's a good use of a wood that we all respect.

Maybe Erik Nording can come out with a low cost wife next.
