Stormy is all over the place looking for burley. Just in from the DSA where I finished the commute smoke while it was drizzling rain.

With a large mug of strong coffee, I'm smoking some Low Country Natural Virginia and Oriental in a tan sandblasted nose warmer. The only thing wrong with the nose warmers are that they are small and don't last a long time. While being compact and convenient while busy doing things. Trade offs.

I now am finishing off a bowl of Lane's Andullo, which I got at the 2017 Chicago pipe show. I have it in a Savinelli bent Dublin(KS611) merely marked Savinelli Product. A rusticated pipe. I got it as an Estate pipe at the 2016 Chicago show.

Stayed fairly busy this weekend and then headed to Cedar Point yesterday, left at 6am. Had a blast, my wife hadn't ridden any of the new roller coasters there over the past decade and I don't really believe she'd ever ridden any "real" roller coasters. Even with lines we managed to ride the main ones; The Raptor, The Magnum XL200, The Maverick, The ValRavn, the Top Thrill Dragster ( my wife REALLY did not like the dragster, way too fast for her at 120MPH and it takes off screaming at a near instant 80-100 MPH. It's very fast, is an understatement.) Also got to ride the new Wind Seeker late last night with the lights, takes you about 400 feet up and slowly spins you around in a free swinging basket like a carousel. That one was actually pretty creepy feeling right by the beach of the lake with decent wind. Feet hanging, 400 some feet up in the air in the darkness. Last but not least, we rode the new Gatekeeper which may be my new favorite, and finished with riding the Wicked Twister, which is an old favorite of mine. My wife got on the Slingshot with my buddie's wife, which is a basket two seater that launches you on a spring and cord system 360ft into the air.
Didn't get more than a smoke or two yesterday, started this morning with some Mixture 79 in a Twain cob and now I'm having some War Horse Bar in a "the pipe" straight, all jet black apple.

Just finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem. A bottle of Boylan's Birch Beer made with pure cane soda is my drink. Watching Mad Dog Russo.

I now have some of my latakia mix in the above Savinelli Quercia 703JU A truly large Lovat. Check it out.
www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/savinelli/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=205792
As for my latakia blend, its 60% latakia, 20% dark burley and 10% bright Virginia. I'd say it's smooth, flavorful and not as strong as it sounds. It's pretty mild compared to say Dark Fired Kentucky or other dark burleys. It also does not have the bite of some Virginia based blends. Also there is a tablespoon of anise seed to sweeten and flavor, adding just a hint of both.
