This seems like the best option for your circumstances, Marty. You just need to be careful not to scorch your rims. Did you order one? If so, let us know how you like it.

The Rocky Patel Laser lighter is really easy to use as it just takes a thumb against the glass to ignite it. I also have other triple flame lighters ( Vertigo ) that requires me to use my left hand to press down on my thumb of my right hand to come up with enough force to depress the button. I don't have to worry about scorching the rim using the Frank Method of lighting a pipe as the flame goes directly into the center of the bowl. Which is something that you can not say about soft flame lighters, and the extremely short amount of time that the flame is near the bowl is fractional compared to how long a soft flame is near the bowl.

What is the easiest to use lighter? With my low hand strength I can only use this Lotus lighter Or the Zikar model that is so popular. Both give inconsistent lights. I've sent the Lotus in for repairs already. I cannot operate a Bic, it's just too hard for me to operate. Xikar is the best bang for you buck I own one. it has all the tools built in and a lifetime replacement.

You're gonna need that lifetime replacement warranty. Xikar sells really cheap plastic-tanked trash. What you're paying for is the warranty, so you can get it replaced over and over

I guess about 5 years ago they changed suppliers and everything after that is really poor build quality and has poor reliability. The Lotus lighter I posted above has since gone bad on me, after I had previously sent it in for repairs, so no more of them.

You can't win with traditional smokers who believe everything their mentors drilled into their heads, just like trying to change someones religious beliefs. ...lol

The Frank method is the best until one masters the simple thumb load. I gave up on matches since they stopped making those that would light on everything and went green. I really miss being able to match tricks. The very best lighter you can buy is a Zippo for as little as 20 bucks you can get a lighter and a bottle of fluid. The flints are harder to come by these days than they used to be. AS for me I don't really care the taste of lighter fluid or match sulphur or having to put my lighter in the freezer so it will take butane or some other absurd trick. I have purchased lighters of all shapes and sizes and price ranges most of the reside in a landfill waiting to be discovered in the distant future by a young archaeologist in the year 3020. Never really seemed to mater what brand or how much I paid, you get a good one or you get a piece of doo doo.

Penzaholic, not sure if you have tried the newer clipper lighters (walmart). They have a hexagonal wheel and seem really easy to strike compared to bics (especially with the stupid child locks on them). Not sure if they will work with your hand strength but something to try that would only set you back a couple bucks and provides an easily available option if your ever out and about and need one.
