I smoke for flavor and enjoyment...not nic...I will actually quit smoking a blend if it gets me stoned.. Trust me when I say this sir, I've been stoned (many years ago) and that dizzy feeling from Nic isn't it. LOL! I have had my share of "stoned" times...and some blends make me slur words and lose my balance...Thats close enough to being stoned for me!!

Wow that's a hardcore effect from nicotine! It really can act so differently upon different people. Some people get super sleepy, some people get panic attacks, some don't barely notice it, some it's just like a little caffeine. Nicotine is unique in that a small amount is a stimulant but a larger amount turns to a sedative.

I don't feel nic that much, sometimes it will catch me. But after smoking coffin nails for 2 or 4 decades. It takes a but.

John I used to smoke 4 packs a day when I was driving truck and stopped the ciggies in 2004..I bummed a Camel Light ( My go to Ciggie in the day) about 3 years ago when I was having a bad night at work. After smoking that thing I starting falling into doors and I was all dis-oriented for about half and hour. It was so bad that after my charge nurse did a vitals check on me and he had me go into the visitation room and lie down until I was feeling better. After l "slept it off" I was able finish doing my rounds although my head still felt like it was in a bucket of cement till the end of my shift.

You must let me know what blends you smoke, I must be smoking the wrong stuff! It was my first attempt at cutting the OTC cherry blends I bought using the STG coupons..I cut a pouch of Half and Half and Middleton Cherry with two pouches of Five Brothers. YUCK!!!!!!!!! I tossed that monstrosity into the fire after the family was done making smores and dogs that night! I have since stopped using the "brothers" in any manner when it comes to cutting my OTC "FrankenBlend" jars of "all things Cherry" or "all things Vanilla".

I guess I'm a bit odd since Vitamin N does not seem to affect me. I like full tasting blends that are robust. If that translates to higher nicotine content then that's where I fall. You are not alone...

I generally like full flavored blends with a medium nicotine content, but I don't crave nicotine and can go for days or weeks without it with no issues.

Strong. I only smoke 1-3 pipes a day so I look for that deep satisfaction.
Great tobaccos for me were always ones like Nightcap and GH twists.

I generally smoke for flavor, but sometimes I just feel like having more nic. That's when I specifically choose a nic bomb. I like smoking more nic heavy stuff when making pipes, since it kinda gets the blood flowing, and I have better focus. Nic and caffeine are both mild stimulants, but I find a lot of caffeine can make me less focused, and more wired. Nic has almost a paradoxical effect, with far less bodily buzzing (almost calming), while retaining a lot of the actual brain stimulation.

I smoke 2 or 3 bowls a day, and the worst thing that ever happens is I get a little bit dizzy. I have no addiction as I almost never smoke when we are out of town. I have gone over 3 weeks without a pipe and really didn't miss it at all. I mostly like smoking a pipe just for those idle moments.

Like some others, I am sensitive to too much nic. With the pain meds I take twice daily, I find that if I need the pain med to work a little faster, then I might smoke a cigarette. A bowl of 5 Brothers will make me sorta sick...too much nic at one time.

Not a smoking tobacco, but this really lights the afterburners for me nic-wise.. I've never heard of El Toro. Is it chewing tobacco or snuff? I chewed Beechnut Wintergreen for a short period in high school, but quit when I started to like it too much. I never cared for the ground chewing tobacco, just leaf. Hardly anyone smoked when I was in high school in the early 80s, but chew was popular with the jocks.

That's called Chimo … kind of like Makla on steroids. LOL
IIRC, they basically stew the leaves down to a concentrate / reduction to make this stuff.

LOL IIRC, they basically stew the leaves down to a concentrate / reduction to make this stuff. +1 They pour it hot into the plastic base, you pry it out and roll a ball about the size of a pea and put under your tongue...it has a chocolatey tobacco taste, you have to keep it to he front of your mouth or it can be overwhelming. It took me some getting used to, but I really like the stuff. JD from the Country Squire just mentioned recently he uses it, so I am in good company. Best when used privately, great for trucking! I think they ship it via human caravan though, even though a Fedex employee delivers it....it typically takes three weeks to show up. chimoeltoro.com/

Never a factor for me....As with others who have posted, it is about the blend's flavor (I have enjoyed a variety of blends with varying nicotine content). Maybe this is in part because I never smoked cigarettes nor am I an addicted (must have a bowl😁)smoker.

I agree with SB when it comes to that dizzy feeling from Nic, sometimes I get it with my first bowl in the morn (Escudo) but, that's the only time. But, I'm not sure I understand this "I smoke a pipe for the Flavor" thing a lot are saying. Don't we all smoke a pipe for the flavor? If there was no flavor there certainly wouldn't be any reason to smoke, at least not for me. Might as well be sucking a tail pipe, I hear Carbamoxide has no taste or smell. Or is there some out there that just smoke for a Nic hit/high? For those of you that do this, quit wasting your time and money, just go out and get a patch, hell get 6 and plaster them all over ya and that'll take care of it. Just think, no pipes, no tobaccos, no lighters and all that other silly equipment we have to carry around to smoke a pipe, all gone. This makes me think of an old pipeline inspector I used to work with. After a heart issue he quit smoking. When asked how he was doing he’d say, “I’m on the patch, and I’m down to five!” Lifting his shirt, he shite you not!!

I don't actively seek nicotine. Even if a blend is strong, I will go outside to tap the pipe clean and smoke a cigarette while I'm out there. The two are completely different for me.

I have also noticed smokers who seem very dedicated to certain blends, are often dedicated to strong blends. Like Royal Yacht for example. Could be something there.

When it comes to addiction...I don't feel that I am addicted in any way. However, there are times, like yesterday, for example, when I was driving home and thinking how good it would be to come through the door, have a cup of coffee and light my pipe while I rest on the sofa. Since I don't have a pipe indoors that was never going to happen. That's not what I would consider a craving - simply a nice thought.
Considering normally over a week goes by in the winter between pipes, I'm pretty sure the nicotine hasn't caught me in its trap.

I smoke mostly for the flavor and if there is a little extra nic in it it's a plus for me. I don't know the nic content of what I'm smoking but I feel more energetic since I started smoking a pipe and laying off the ciggies.

I'm a slave to nicotine, as well as caffeine.
As far as pipe tobacco goes, I like both. My mood, time of day, and what I'm doing are all factors in what I choose to smoke.
If I could only pick one or the other, I'd go for the higher nic blends. They seem more robust in the true (to me) tobacco flavor department.

Been a while since I felt a vitamin N kick. Maybe the last time was a fresh tin of JKP. I finally got some Brown Bogie that is reported to be a nic-hit but didn't seem to affect me.
