Hello all. I am a retired miner and mechanic, enjoying retirement in Northern Nevada. I joined because of an invite from another member. Hope to learn a lot (I am a pipe-newbie, sort of) and contribute when I can.

Yeah, love seeing you here, Nev. I feel a lot freer in sharing things here, though I love both forums I am in. Great group here.

Good to have you with us. What kind of mining did you do? I was in the mining business for over 30 years.

Come on in and pull up a pipe. Unlike Borkum Riff, we won't bite!
To be clear, I have no problem with BR biting. Welcome from Minnesota!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Yes, I am on some other forums, including pipe smoking and model trains and a few others. I started my mining career in a lead mine in the new lead belt in Missouri and finished it at a gold mine in Nicaragua. Been around... like the song says... I've been everywhere man. Grin...

nevadablue: lead and gold huh? So you must be into Heavy Metal! lol Seriously though, welcome! My wife and I used to go to Las Vegas quite a bit, and then we got married there over 30 years ago. Nevada is a cool state even without Las Vegas.

The Viburnum Trend. I worked at the Buick mine. (No, we didn't mine Buicks, it was named for an old car on the site)

Welcome from northern New Mexico.
We have a molybdenum mine down the road. Closed now and in reclamation. Plenty of old miners about.
I hope you enjoy this place.
