Not exactly 'making' a pipe, but modifying one. I took one of my little 'reject' cobs from MM and added an acrylic stem from ebay. The stem still has to be fitted to the shank diameter, but it is smokable now. So far the only tools required were a diamond fingernail file and a diamond reamer. Maybe the dremel will form the bit diameter. Or chuck the tenon in a drill and use a file...

I'm asking because I mod a Cob on occasion. I really don't mod any thing smaller than a legend. If you want to see one of my mods ask Cobguy he has a Rob Roy I nodded. Think he also has a reverse Calabasas Gent I did.

I am not sure which model it is. I got a box of 10 'rejects' from MM a while back. Several of them would work with the stems I had. This one just looked right.

Thanks! I have saved and dried some corn cobs from sweet corn. I think all of them are too small though. I may make a 'pocket pipe' from one however. Looking for feed corn now, on the cob stuff sold for animal feed.

Here is a thought for you. Contact Old Dominion, they use Heirloom Corn for their pipes. You might be able to get some cobs from them. Also I don't know if they still have some but, Aristocob.com may have some seed that MM uses. This is a hibred corn so the cob is thicker.

What's really cool is that old table with elevation scale ... drafting table?
... ask Cobguy he has a Rob Roy I modded. Think he also has a reverse Calabash Gent I did.
Yes sir ... both great smokers! I'll get pics of those up sometime soon as I was meaning too anyway.

Someone noticed the book! I couldn't resist. The book actually sits right there since we moved. The table is a little plane table surveying table. It is military issue and came with the bag and a level. It was used for mapping areas around operation zones. It makes a great side table for my recliner.
