I don't know what this thing holds in store for me.I live in N.Carolina.I won't know for a few more days.If it looks likes like it's going to be real bad.I will head across the mountains and pile in on my sister in Tennessee for a few days.Preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.

Meanwhile, we've got some members in Florida that are likely already in the thick.
Keeping Baboo and all other Floridians in our thoughts and hoping for the best!
With any luck, Larry, it won't come your way at all ... fingers crossed.

Just go find a safe place away from the coast, say about 300 miles. Be Safe.

My sister in law is hunkered down in Miami. She wouldn't leave. Worried. She is with friends at least.

I have some friends and relatives in PR, thankfully everyone seems to be fine. Still hoping for the best for those still in its path.

Even my family in White Springs, FL is heading up from our property down there. The estimate is basically 30mph-130mph winds depending on how it hugs the coast. I rode the last hurricane Hermine out down there by myself but this one looks bad.

They said there is an absence of winds above the hurricane to slow it down , and the Atlantic is 1 degree warmer this year.

from what I've seen this morning, the center track leads right over Fort Meyers.
Almost funny but on Thursday I saw a story about the Coast Guard moving its assets from the east coast of Florida to the west coast so they could safely stage for the response after. I guess they are all moving back to the east coast now.

Watching the gal standing in downtown Miami holding onto a railing saying "we don't see any flying projectiles right now"... no dummy, if and when that stop sign gets ripped off the pole and it flies horizontally towards you, your decapitation will hhappen so quickly, that you will not see it coming. Then she says..."oh, my Gosh, look at that....and the camera pans towards two guys riding bicycles with the winds to their back..."That is just insane, if these guys get hurt, the authorities will not respond to help them...please do not ride your bikes in the storm. If grown adults want to do foolish stuff, it is their life...it is their choice to take the risk...get over it. Nobody needs to be warned about bicycle riding in a hurricane.....and if your head is chopped off, ain't nobody saving you either, sister. go.cnn.com/

Yep, always never ceases to amaze me that they stand there saying that the rain and wind is stinging their eyes and none of them wear clear safety glasses.
Who would have thought this thing would peter out so quickly? Florida really got lucky considering how massive this was.
