I guess you were prohibited from mentioning Pike's Place which I learned had been discontinued due to a lawsuit not long after I bought some. Of the Balkan blends done by SPC, Pike's Place was the better one. Never tried that one. I'm guessing on the dates but prior to my purchase in July or August 2016, there was a trademark lawsuit against either the Seattle Pipe Club or P&C for using the name Pike Place. Apparently, the Pike Place Market owners were allowed the trademark the name of a geographic location which had been in use for over a 100 years or so and didn't like the fact that a tobacco was named Pike Place and they weren't getting a payoff. That is all my guesswork because when I emailed Matt Guss at SPC, his response was "I can't comment on that tobacco other than to say its out of production." I'll dig around the cellar and see if I have any left.

Great article, Jim. I love that I just read this and as it happens I am awaiting delivery of several new SPC blends to try. I was lured in not only by the glowing reviews, but the wonderful tin art as well. If these other blends are anything near the quality of the Plum Pudding I've already smoked, the line will see me emptying my wallet for years to come.
