What go-to blends are no longer go-to tobaccos for you because your tastes changed, and not because they were discontinued?

Like a lot of folks, 1Q and RLP-6. The sweetness became cloying. Give me a straight VaPer, LNF or Escudo, or for a richer mood, a Balkan or Oriental blend.
Some pure, aged latakia leaf was one of the most sublime things I've ever smoked.

SWRA Half & Half Sugar Barrel Walnut Velvet BLWB TK-6
A regular aromatic smoker, I like and appreciate several Lane Blends but not all.

Old Dark Fired. Accumulated almost 15 lbs. of it, and then it fell out of favor. Good trading stock someday.

My lone blend when I started was Stokkebye nougat.... I rarely reach for it, but occasionally it is a nice change of pace. My wife wishes it was still my go to blend.

It would be Tinder Box's Captain Spice. The difficulty in getting it was a major issue, but I have been pleased by so many newer and alternative tobacco that I don't feel the need.

Trout Stream for me. For a good 6 months this was about all I smoked in the early days. I haven't smoked it in years.

EMP. I thought I really liked that blend, but last couple of times I smoked it I did not enjoy it at all.

Nightcap, 965 and Pirate Kake - almost completely lost my taste for Latakia these days.
Epiphany is still an occasional with Latakia. Or EGR.

I don't know enough yet to decide anything like that. Still in exploration mode. Probably will stay that way.

Penzance was a go-to lat fave for a while, but the novelty wore off. Great stuff, but no longer the pinnacle in my ever-changing cellar rotations.

and the upside to these changes in taste, is that it frees up the budget (I know, nasty word) to try something new.

What stands out for me is Frog Morton On the Town. As my first dance with Latakia, it was almost like smoking some mystic tonic. Now, it's a nice all-day English. Beyond that even, I've found so many other tobaccos that English is no longer the absolute favorite. But I'll always remember that first night smoking it. Coming from OTC aromatics as a kid, when I found FM it was like finding a mysterious alley in Hong Kong where they sold dreams and magic- only now I'm a little further down the alley. Haha

For the first seven years or so, my go-to blends were Captain Black (white) and Barclay Rum(Barclay Rex). In 2005 I began smoking English blends, mostly Davidoff Royalty. By 2010, my go-to was Maiden Lane Blend (Barclay Rex). Over the next few years, my go-to varied from Maiden Lane, Penzance and Skiff Mixture. Today I no longer have one go-to. I rotate about a dozen or so blends daily. They're mostly VaPers, VaPer Burleys, VAs and depending on the weather, Balkans and English/Oriental forwards.

Half & Half for me. It was my go-to tobacco in the eighties; always satisfied. But back then I didn't know what other choices were out there.

This is simple, the answer is goopy over the counter aromatics and those that have black Cavendish in them.

Mine would be almost any Latakia blend. I still can enjoy The Aperitif, London Mixture, and Gaslight. I don't go to them all too often though. I need to be in the mood for some Latakia. I have an 8 ounce bag of Penzance too (got it over a year ago) but haven't even opened it yet (I hope the mylar bag keeps it "good". Others have stated that the mylar bags are good for years, sooooo......).
Once I found Va's, VaPer's, VaBur's, etc. I was hooked and have been for a couple years now.

I thought I found Nirvana when I 'discovered' English and Balkans. This past year I too found VaPer's, VA's and Va/Per/Burleys. I predominantly smoked these blends now. The English seem to have been relegated to colder weather.
