PipeStud's Drugstore Page pipestud.com/famous-old-drugstore-tins/ has some variety packs that if you do the math are cheaper than some new tobaccos 10 x 1.5 - 2 oz packages for 30$ and about 7$ shipping. Has some variety tin buys as well. Sadness: Not one of my cards has indicated a credit increase and the wife just got our bank statement. Kids already knew what to do: They picked up their tin cups and dark glasses. WillyDog got out his organ grinder and pet monkey. I'd even get to work if Xuan would quit hitting me with the dadgummed frying pan My Baccy lies over at PipeStud's My Baccy ain't nowhere near me Will someone please tell Ole PipeStud I wish he'd do C O D

I saw some of that a week ago, it is like he found a warehouse filled with old codger blends. I will have to find out the back story on that at the West Coast pipe show.

Now Now trailboss... I'm not the kind of guy who will kiss and tell. (-; I didn't think it would be top secret info, just figured it to be an interesting story like the corvette "barn find".

Wow, those are some good deals - if you like those blends. I kind of fear that I wouldn't, though. I wonder why he's not selling them individually in ebay. EDIT: sorry, pipestud - just noticed you're here. Didn't mean to talk about you like you're not in the room!

LOL at trailboss! I was just pulling your chain a little. I never divulge the names of consignors or buyers as a courtesy, but I don't ever mind sharing general information. Regarding all those old "Drugstore" tins; a gentleman who owned a pipe shop for 40-years and who retired back in 1979, was told about my website and he contacted me. When he told me what all he had I took a gamble and accepted, quite literally a small warehouse worth of those old tins, pouches, etc, to sell. So, I just started a new page on my site and the response has been overwhelming. I'm grateful to all of you fine folks for the interest and business.

No problem, Chico. To answer your question; eBay actually quit allowing the sale of pipe tobacco a couple of years ago. A few people still get away with it for awhile but eventually get caught. I was fortunate in that I was already running my private website and selling vintage tins for 11-years prior to the eBay ban and had already built up a large international customer base. And, I don't have to pay eBay listing and final value fees on my private website either.

Yeah, I've seen those ebay listings "collectible tins... sold for packaging, not contents" etc. So have you opened up and smoked any of those pouches? I'm wondering how they age, and if that kind of packaging doesn't dry them out too much. I had some other questions, but I just noticed they're all sold out! Anyway, welcome to the forum. This is where all the cool kids and refugees hang out.

They weren't sold out earlier. As to taste the 1936 Briggs is to die for. The wooden keg has a ceramic humidor disc in the lid. I was bemoaning when he put that one up that he didn't issue credit cards. That page would be mine, all mine!

As the prices are fair, if my finances were up to it, I'd get that other Briggs barrel, the Henie's Blend tub, and a tub of George Washington (that one sold).
