Well, whenever hubby is home I have very little internet time. He's been home since Saturday, he took two sick days (Monday and Tuesday) and whenever he is sick with just a head cold type of thing he is a pain in the butt. I much prefer he have the flu because then he sleeps all day, lol. But when he just has a cold he stays home, whines and pouts around the house and expects me to make him broth and noodles. *sigh* But yesterday he was feeling better enough that he went outside to cut down our cornstalks, so I sat outside and smoked for awhile.
First bowl was CB White in an Aristocob Lady Godiva with short amber bit, sipping Cherry Coke.

Now for my really exciting news! Hubby felt well enough to sit outside in the evening and started a fire in our patio fire pit. He said he wanted to take another stab at smoking a pipe again. He had tried in the past, but honestly they were kind of half-hearted attempts. I think what really helped was at the pipe show one of the guys with the Arrowhead Pipe Club gave hubby a booklet on smoking a pipe. He read it very carefully, and for hubby's birthday I got him a Nording Freehand pipe, not to try to bribe him into smoking, but to get him to relinquish claim to the pipe I won in a drawing at the Columbus Pipe Show by putting his name in the box, lol. But, he really liked the Nording I got him so I think that was a motivating factor.
SO, we sit outside and I had gotten some Native Spirit Organic tobacco at the smoke shop, hubby liked the way it smelled in the pouch, but not so much when it burned. I had also gotten some of the Honeyrose Herbal smoking blend, so I mixed him some tobacco with the two and packed him a pipe. Took a little bit to get it started and keep going, but after it kept going for him he seemed to like it very well. Oh, forgot to say that we were using a cob -- he said he wanted to learn on a cob so he doesn't ruin his nice pipe.
He then tried a little bit of my Iwan and Ries King's Oriental, but he didn't like it all that well. He took a puff of my Cherry Bomb and said it was okay.
I'll be mixing up more "Hubby's Blend" today, but it will probably be awhile before we get to sit out again....
